floro tubes are shit no lumen intentisty.....a 30w has about 1400 lumens over the whole tube (So 5 cm of the plant has 400 lumens) where as a 30w cfl is around 2000 lumen intentisty in a ball of light

Envirolites are becoming a more and more popular alternative to HID lighting. They are effective, energy saving, reliable

Like a 30w clf has 2000 Lumen intensity (so it cant penetrate the bud deep enough thats why you get reli small buds)
125w Envirolite cfl 12000 Lumen intensity (Envirolites can penetrate bud ok still not great but still with more light it will)
a 400w hps has around 55000 Lumen intensity (hps will penetrate bud great up to 10 ft away)

But thats the REASON it grow fast in veg but not in FLOWERING

ok i think im getting ahead of myself,from whaT Iv been reading a cfl is good for 1-3 plants. so i need to start small.
i now have the following supplies:
2 extra large rubbermaid-like bins
aluminum duct tape
2 emergency blankets
fat roll of mylar
6 light bathroom lite fixture
pots
10-15-10 nutrients
fans
seeds (ill freeze all but a few)
space to grow.

all i need now is lights and soil. am i forgetting something?

it all denpens on what cfl (wattage...type...) and size of box and many other things but ....if you buy 42watters its around 3-4 for one plant .....(only in flowering but 2 will not be great..!!

well 42watter are good ....
i use 2 x 125watters big cfls ...10,000 lumen and they grow 4-6 fat plants in 4 weeks that all i Vegg for..!!

cool. so my plan is to veg all my plants under my 1000w hid then build a cfl box for just 2 males(one og kush-one granddaddy purple). just so i can breed them.

ok dude but USE 2 125w cfls for 6 plants for vegging only then but a 400 w hps that will save you alot of cash ...and money that the cfls saves
no point in getting 1000w mh ..!!!
