Default 1st real cfl grow. Hopefully I can make it into a journal.
Well I just sprouted 4 for 4 seeds of thai stick. I used the cup of water method until they all sank and then I put them in moist paper towels. So far I think I've been doing a good job considering one sprouted 3 days ago and the rest sprouted 2 days ago.

My lights are set on at 5 pm and off at 11 am. Right before the hottest part of the day. Temps usually range from 74-84 but today it got up to 95 (my temp gauge keeps records of the hottest and coldest parts of the day) I have an intake and exhaust fan. Pretty good ventilation. The only thing I can think of is add another fan or try and get my room cooler and darker. I put foil on the windows to reflect the sun away and I"m going to put a white curtain up to keep out that little extra sun light. Any other tips? An A/C is out of the question at this moment until I have next months rent saved up. (2 weeks)

I'll post pics as soon as my camera charges up.

I also had a gnat problem but I took care of that with a 80% water mixture 20% peroxide and a fly strip.

Also what are some ways to up the humidity I only got about 30% I read you want about 50% Or until its "sticky"

Sorry the pics are a little big I will resize them next time. Is there a better way to post pics besides photobucket?

The blanket you see is very breathable and light proof There's actually one more plant but its hard to get too without taking out all of the plants. Added some side lighting but had to take it out because the temps got up to 90 in 10 minutes. They weren't cfl's though it was a bulb that we use to use to grow tomatoes thought it would work.

As you can see the box isn't that tall or big its only about 3ft. And only fits 4 1 gallon planters but like I said before its a temp box until I get paid.

Resized the pics in my photobucket but only one took the edit. (the pic of my vent)

Question if I wanted to go for a SOG style using little peat moss pellets for the cuttings do you think I could use this box and then just put them in their permanent (5 gal) pots right after? That way I would be able to fit about 10 cuttings easily without modifying the little box. If not I'll just do 4 at a time.

Also I checked and my humidity is at 35% Putting a bowl of ice water will raise that right? Should I only do it during the light off cycle or as much as possible, what about CO2 when should I add that. I sleep in the same room as my plants so I doubt CO2 will be a real problem but I'm not always in here and the fan is pretty strong so I don't know how much it is actually getting.

30in tall, 25in wide, and 23in depth. Its made from an extra cabinet I had laying around.

So you're saying if I do a SOG style 1 gal pots are big enough for flowering? And when they are cuttings its okay to put them straight from being cut into the pellets and then into the 1 gal for vegging/flowering?
