so this is my first serious grow, tried twice before, once just using a single fluorescent light, and once just giving the plant 12 hours of sunlight a day. so my basic setup is in my closet, it's 5 long 2 feet deep and 5 feet tall...i currently have 2 100w equivalent cfls, not sure what the actual wattage is maybe 27, and 4 75 equivalent cfls, all daylight for veg, i have two bulbs currently for flower one is 43w cfl in the middle of the spectrum and one 43w cfl on the red end of the spectrum. i'm using a 4.75L pot it's pretty tall so it has some depth to it...10 inches tall to be exact...got a moisture meter to prevent overwatering and honestly it has helped me judge better when to water, and a ph meter, my soil is consistantly between 6.6 and 6.8. The closet is painted white and i am planning on dividing it one side for flower one for veg. is this a good idea? or should they be seperated? i'll get more into details answering your questions and comments. please comment, i am looking for the best yield possible and i know i will make mistakes in the future so i just need that guiding hand to help me alo

so i forgot to mention that i am using the simple active yeast and sugar= Co2...and i know it seems weird but it's worth a shot, i've got the banana in the pot between weeks 3-5 of veg, heard on this site that greatly increases the chances of getting a female, something to do with the ethalyene gas or whatever, i don't see any harm in it. so during week 2, one of my cfls fell on the top of my plant and singed all the top leaves developing at the time, it definetly recovered from this and it seems to have had the same effect as topping the plant because it became very bushy after that. it's 12 in. now, and since i have 63 in. of closet space, when it gets to 21 in. i'm going to switch it to flower...is this risky, i have heard that they triple in size during flowering, but can they more than triple? i have more room to raise the light, there are two shelves that would allow me to raise the light another foot. and the plant could grow higher but it would run into the shelves

nice looking plants, why dont you top them so they dont grow too high but smaller and stockyer?.
what are you going to flower the plants with? hps or flo's?

one thing if you do the one side 12 and other vegg make sure your 12/12 grow half has no light leaks, if light gets in in the dark period, it will send them hermie. be carful.

as far as splitting the closet, i don't think i'm gonna do it, i have an entire second bedroom i can utilize, i'm going to use a portion of it for flowering, might also just germ some bag seeds and SOG them as well, couldn't hurt right? this way if i'm vegging plants for 2 months each then vegging, as well as using sog, i should be harvesting something every month, my whole intention is just to become my own supplier, so i'm hoping to produce and 2 oz. a week, and my hope is, when i get a plant that is looking really good in the veg area, to turn it into a mother and start cloning it...my light setup for the flowering like i said is going to be 3 or 4 43w cfls in the red spectrum, and some smaller ones as well that i will use to light the underside of the plants. yeah, i'm being careful with the ananas, i take them away whenever the top soil is really moist, and they say you can let them get black, i'm gonna take them away when they get really brown. this is the furthest i've ever gotten, so i'm nervous about topping, don't want to mess up. any idea what size pots are needed if i veg sog plants for 2 weeks than go 12/12?

this is one of the threads that talk about the banana thing, you can also google banana religion and get some info...seems like some people have tried it and it works, but other people say that it's stupid, i don't see any harm in trying?

and i have a question about the co2 in a bottle thing, when i heard the idea the first time they said put the bottle under your plant, now i was dicking around on hear last night and read a thread that said CO2 is heavier than oxygen so you have to put the bottles above the plants...as you can see in my pics my bottles are basically soil level with the plants...are they getting any CO2?
