I have a small closet system that I am working on. I just bought some new lights to hopefully entice my babies to grow a little more. I have three plants growing, two of them are one week old, an one is a few days old. My current lighting setup is

5 26 watt cfls
2 32 watt cfls
2 40 watt cfls
1 45 watt cfl

So a total of 319 watts of cfls in a relativly small closet with white walls. How does this sound for three bagseed plants. I am assuming that once I start to flower at least 1 or 2 may be males, so in that case the remaining plant would be getting a large amount of light.

Basically just looking for some comments on my amount of light vs number of plants I have. Also will post some pics if people are interested. The two plants that are a week old have just started growing there second set of serrated leaves.

Hmm it appears that I need to post some pictures to get some more people interested, all I have is a camera phone but I took pictures of my two plants that are 9 days old, I also have a sprout that is bout 3 days old. I also included a picture of my light setup.

319 wats.... you should realy think about getting a small hid light... you arent going to like moving all those cfls on a daily basis

lol its already annoying, im working on something that I can use to raise them all at once, as of now there are 3 sets attached which makes it a major pain

yeah... i started with cfls and got rid of them quick... you would be saving time and money on your bill if you switched to a 150w hps

really, compared to all my cfls, would a smaller hps light actually be cheaper on electricity?

yes.. 319w of cfl is the same as 319w of hid, you could have 2 150 and save money....
but for that grow space i would get either a 150 hps or a 250

Sodium burns faster and the heat and all the shit you need to keep cool costs alot the bulbs you got are ok .
i wouldnt use your closet with a HPS lol Fires lol
im useing
1 x 125w
2 x 85w
3 x 40w
3 x 25w tubes
LOL a Total of 490watts
and my bill is not as much as a 400w hps lol
