Sorry You won't get crap for buds with that spectrum. Blooming buds need red spectrum light (red spectrum cfl's have a higher UV light content and temperature). Flowering with CFL's is already somewhat compromising, so I would suggest buying some cheap 2700K cfl's from 1000bulbs.com That is where I got mine. Hope that helps

Ok with thoughs lights you will get buds but they wont be nearly as dense and wont have as high of a thc level/%.
You will still get something though and Im sure they wouldnt be half bad buds either.

You want lights 2700 kelvines give or take a couple hundred.
The point is, is that at that level the bulb puts out predominantly in the red spectrum. This is conducive for flowering. Its the light the plant wants.

The 5000k - 6500k range put out the blue which is great for vegetative growth.

Hope that helps man. Any other questions?

No it doesnt matter you will still get bud but if you have the right (k) kelvin
5000 + -below for vegging
3000 - above for flowering
the result would be better but thats not saying you wont get bud with them lights

If you want an explaination here's my quick rundown. During vegetative growth the plant uses blue light because that's the wavelength used mostly for photosynthesis. Red light is used to produce chlorophyl and also is used in photosynthesis.

The reason the plant is designed to use these different wavelengths is this: In the summer the sun is at less of an angle to the earth and supplies more blue spectrum. In the fall or spring more red and less blue reaches the earth. The plant evolved to uses these spectrums as a marker for when to begin its phases.

This is what I've gathered from some reading and I may not be recalling it right, so if anyone has more input then please chime in

no thats pretty well-said daisy. ive spoken to someone actually researching the biology of the cannabis plant and he said that an ideal lighting system is one that uses as many of the different K ratings as possible, minus the light in the green spectrum (4000K or so). having lights that represent say, every 500K in the red and blue spectrums would be best, but obviously nature is not so easy to replicate. using only one kind of cfl in each stage is an oversimplified representation of nature and thats why some people get scraps and others get results that rival a decent hps or mh grow. Make the best of what u have and good luck growing my frend

p.s. look into a uvb light that mimics xeric (desert) conditions. it should hav a rating of 10.0. it should help boost your potency...theres a lot more info on this theory here on RIU
