Hi stoners.

Im in the stages of planning my first grow. I have done a fair bit of research however i would like to ask afew questions.

I plan to grow 2 or 3 plants at a time (i will plant about six and hope i get at least 2 sexy females)
I will make my grow box and disguise it as a speaker box with fans for vent buit into the back.
And i plan to use 3 or 4 cfls (i have to use cfls to keep energy bills down). So far so good.
However, im a student and can only grow during term time whilst im in my own flat (i cant grow at home cos if i got busted my mum would lose her job)

The longest time i have is about ten weeks, is it possiblle to veg and flower in this time? (i want a good yield but its only for personal so an oz or 2 will do)

Also whats a good strain to grow for a first timer with limited time and space?
and how big should my grow box be?(the smaller the better)

I'm in the planning stages of my first grow too and I think your best bet would be a seed called top 44. From the research I've done, it's the fastest flowering plant I've found (6 weeks). I don't know if you'll have enough vegging time though.

thanks for the info. i looked at top 44 and it looks like a good plant to grow. I only plan to veg for a short space of time, this should keep the plant small (space constraints) as well as allowing me to grow within my timescale.

does anyone know of an automated watering system so that i can leave my babies for about 2 weeks (this would let me expand my timescale)

does anyone else have any helpful advice?

if you did it in a hydro system, you could set a timer on your pump pretty easily but I don't think making a whole hydroponic set up will fit within your space constraints... I guess it could though.
To do that, you'd have to get a timer that you plug into the outlet and then you plug the power chord from the pump into the outlet on the timer.

you could try doing 12/12 from seed, from what i read they can show sex within 2 weeks and would take the other 8 weeks to flower, obviously depending on strain.

Nope don't even bother...unless you plan on only smokin a joint or 2. Most non-autoflowering plants need at least 5 weeks of growth before flowering them. You can get away with starting at 4 weeks but...honestly...not worth it. Guess you'll have to settle for just buying bags until you get your own place.
