you need daylight or 6500k for vegging and soft white 2700 for flowering. a two pack of 23 watters cost like 8 bucks and works very well!

you can check sex with any CFL you don't need a 2700k to check for sex, 2700 will however go faster. at walmart you can get a 6 pack of 2700kelvin 26watts for 11 dollars much better deal with 1750 initial lumens each. You could use them around the house to lower the bill.
