Now that I've figured how to resize my pics properly, I will work on putting up my grow set up and more pics.

does 8 42 watt cfls on a 5 plant DWC setup seem like too much light in early veg (about 2 weeks)? Two lights per plant and only 1 on the smallest/least mature. all were 1" inch away and adjusted regularly. I made a mistake of allowing it to get too hot on the first day of the set up. A few leaves were burned and the plants responded terribly.

pH is 5.9, ppm was put to 685 last night and has dropped to around 650 in just over a day

yeah i think scrog or sog would work best with CFLs. i believe i am going to try sog with some BIGBUD and blue mystic with all CFLs i got two mothers just dieing to be cloned.

Hey anybody order the Bubba Whopper at Lowes? These monsters are about the size of a football. They consume 65 watts and put out about 300 watts of light. They have a red-warm color of about 3000K. New price is $17.

I thing the sog would work well with cfls. I got my garden set up in the window(west facing) of my apt and get direct sun from about 1pm till sundown(about 5pm now). I need to get a journal up too, I got pics from 5 different harvests from the last year. I'm still learning how to resize pics etc.. when I'm done I'll get some pics of my set up posted.

I'm just a beginner, but based on my research, fluoro light degrades rapidly over the space of a foot, so putting all your power into one monster CFL seems like it would really be sort of a waste. It seems more a cat-and-mouse game of playing with lower-watt CFL's to maximize coverage of the plant.

Also, I'd be interested in anybody's experience in the use of CFL's in a SOG or SCROG setup. Mucho interested.

i used two way Y light adapters, 8 23w cfl's, one pc fan, and a outdoor hps reflector. the fan draws air up over the bulbs, and blows out the top, keeping fresh air running over the leaves, and hot air going out the top.
