He intended to, even put a disclaimer about taking them off for pictures. He says he did not use them. The ones he bought are pictured towards the front of the book. I figure that makes the cost about $30.00 less. VV

Anyone that has made the light fixture I have a question. If I go to home depot how much money will it cost me to make the light fixture?

im talking bout the wood, sheet metal, wires and sockets. not the lights.

The wood and sheet metal could just be scrap, the sockets around $1.00 each. The wiring would not be expensive around $15.00 should cover that. VV

I just wanted to let you know that tomarrow is my home depot day and I am going to get everything. One thing I noticed in the book is he is doing everything in a closet so since im doing it in my room instead of my FULL closet I am going to build with 2x4's a "light fixture hanger" It is very simple and will post pics once I set up my rig. I have germed 4 bag seed for the first grow and I am going to transfer into soil when I get all the pots and the light fixture put together tomarrow (hopfully with 140 I can afford everything I need) because I have most of the stuff already such as timers, Veg day light lights, PH kit, Seed starter/clone dome, rockwool ect... But I do need to purchase the wood and sheet metal and light socket fixtures and extension cords for the light fixture itself. than I am going to get miricle grow (since its only bag seed), and then I am going to get perlite. I also need 2 more spliters for the sockets. Pots I am getting 3 5 gallon pots with drainage holes. Hmmm its late kind of buzzed and really forget the rest of my list. lol...

But I will post pics of my setup here when I am done. I am using the BUDS for less as a guide as far as growth.

My second grow (when I already have almost everything I need) I am going to buy BETTER seeds and BETTER soil. But for now since its bagseed im sticking with MG.

Really? I guess the reason why that fixture intrigues me so much is because its easy to use. I tried veging one time (it obveously died because this is my first grow) and i had a hard time placing the wires in a way so I had control over them. Plus its really not that expensive to make. I am doing this setup different than what I have seen. (im not saying no ones done it but I havent seen it done the way im talking about.)

Is their a specific miricle grow that provides 3 months of nutes time release but is at the PH of 5.9-6.5?

Chem, I got a few of those floodlight twin bulb holders for $8 a piece at Home Depot. You'll just need to mount them to a board with screws and splice them to your plug and power source. I love them because they swivel and lock to whatever angle you want. I'm 3 weeks into flowering my low budget/cfl/mg+ grow modeled mostly after GK's book using 6 300w cfls. Well I have almost everything built. Its working greatly. Today I have to go get some sheet metal tho because the sheet metal I used was too thick and when I would bend it the screws would rip out of the wood. Everything else is sweet.

I will post pics when I can.

(my dad is in the hospital so ive been going their a lot we will se when I actually get the sheet metal)

ps: the sheet metal found at home depot didnt have holes in it like the one in the book. so the thinner more flexable one will have to be drilled i guess a couple times with a sheet metal bit.
