Well I use 642w CFL's 2700K in 2.5 sq ft and I can fit 36 plants in 20oz bottles at 16 per sq ft and I pull 7-10g dry per plant and I harvest 4 a week in a high density Sea of Green here's a link to what I have going and I'm sure you will agree I got my CFL's growing down... Not trying to highjack your thread Seemore just like showing people what you helped inspire me to do

Default CFL's
If anyone is interested, I've located sources for large wattage CFL's for a reasonable price... I'm running 4K watts in a 11.5X5.75 room with 2 105cfm fans for exhaust and my temp is mid 80's. Now i do have the advantage that it's in my basement which stays nicely cool most of the year, actually I use it for heat in the winter. I know that my setup was pricey, but I figure that with our electric rate I've save 1.5 X the cost of the lights on my E bill, 'cause we pay more for electric here than ANY where, 'cept Hawaii at ..last bill.. 12.7 cents per unit...If I used HPS the cost would be...way damn too much!!!
oh yeah..thne cost per 125 2700K is 42.00 each, with a life of 10K hours or about 2.334 years...now if I'd just written down WHEN I started each bulb...drat those "senior moments" "sigh"

Now then, I'm going to scour the book store 'cause I WANT THAT BOOK!!!!!grr.. Unfortunately the area I live in can be way too PC..

Default Suggestion
Dear Garden Knowm,

The first thing I have to say is that your book is AWESOME! I hope this post does not make me look like a troll (or worse)!

The second is that you have the patience of a SAINT! I mean, answering Newb questions in a thread obviously (IMHO) meant for "discussion" on the book and possible sources for the book. I read every single post in this thread before posting this, so I really mean that!

Which leads me to my suggestion. This is the only reason I registered, I tend to just lurk at sites where where the behavior on the site is frowned upon by LEO (new term for me, I like it!). <G> I suggest you unsticky this thread and start a new sticky thread with a (politely worded) RTFM or something similar. IMHO (again), newbs posting without doing so deserve to be flamed, but I don't condone it. That is what would happen at any other site.

It is obvious that you really care about this subject! I don't own a copy of your book and would like to purchase one from your site (so you get more of the money) but don't want to leave a footprint. Do you think it is possible to make up a printable order form for those who wish to use cash or M.O.

OOPS, that's two suggestions. <G>

In closing, this has to be the friendliest site I have ever seen! I've enjoyed how friendly everybody is, so I hope I don't start a flame war or something. But if other people want to ( I know you are too nice too), they should remember, I'm just a lurker!

I hope your book continues to sell well!

P.S. I found someplace that sells reflectors similar to the one pictured in the book so many people were asking about. I'ts for heat lamp applications, but it looks close to what is in the copy I have looked at. https://www.hardwareworld.com/Broode...p-pN7NT7P.aspx
