Why experiment when the author can tell us which bulbs he used? We'd like to be able to replicate what he did and this is a vital piece of imformation.

very true noober but then there is no set way of growing there are loads of different ways, no one grows the same!!! alot of it is trial and error unfortunatley!!!! seemore has given you the key you have to turn the lock and walk thru the door urself my man!!!! heres what i know lights wise.......

6400k is blue (daylight) and is for veging
2100k is reddish (soft white etc) is for flowering

but....

say you have 6 light sockets

i would have 4 blue and 2 red for veging
then
5 red and one blue

remember u still want to have growing as well as flowering lol

its not that difficult once it sinks in took me a day or so of reading about to get it!!!

im deciding to leave the household bulbs and just go for proper 200w cfl light and reflector from my local hydro shop its just as cheap as getting all the bits together.....may hang some housebulbs around it too!!!!! im just greedy lol

cant wait to see the results!!! gonna do them in canna tho not soil ive worked with canna before and got amazing results!!!! 10-12oz perplant and they werent that big either lol

seemore keep up the good work man ur an inspiration!!

well, mainly because the author told you he didn't experiment with that part of it he was busy. Unless you are going to write a book also, not just a journal, you will have more time. He did not use the reflectors either, in case you are interested and he didn't use any nutes, just whats is the Miracle grow. One of the threads about garden knowms book has a link to some 68 watt (equilalent to a 300watt) for like just under $20.00 a bulb. One of my friends may experiment with those, using them the same way DirtBagBrian uses his 1000watt hid, verticle instead of horizontal. Why, because GK didn't, he did talk about the proximety of the lights being paramount. We are thinking if we used 4 bulbs, 2 of each spectrum and rotate four plants around the light with mylar around the outside it will be similar to the barrel of green Dr. Pot posted here a little over a year ago. I'm sorry, what was your question, I have forgotten ..... again. VV

Well, the title of the book suggests a budget that would allow for only one set of bulbs for the entire grow. If that was the case then a flowering spectrum would be needed to grow from start to finish with a single set of bulbs - 2700K...

But that's just my assumption. A simple confirmatiom from the author would be greatly appreciated. It would be so much easier to follow the book with this tid-bit of information.

Peace

lol - I know that. What made you think I wasn't aware of that?

He recently replied stating that he used one set of bulbs... but did not indicate which Kelvin rating he used.

I asked him directly. Lots of others have chimed in with their opinions but I would like to know what he used.

GARDENKNOWM, which Kelvin rating did you use?

Thanks.

- Peace

Hey Noober,

I am really sorry there is so much confusion. There is going to be a second printing and I will try and get this information in the book. Your comments are appreciated and I would like to clarify any questions you have.

I purchased both cool, and warm bulbs. And I honestly just chose the cheapest bulbs I could find.

All of the bulbs were 2700 Kelvin. 42 watts - 150 watt equivelant

When i got the bulbs, they were on sale at Home Depot for 4 dollars and some change.

Thank you very much! I appreciate the response. Sorry if I was the source of confusion

That makes it crystal clear... one set of bulbs from start to finish. 42 watts (150 watt equivelant), 2700K.

Are the seeds you used from NIRVANA? I have the book but a friend is borrowing it now, and I don't remember if you mentioned it. Thanks.
