Well after reading through all of the awesome cfl grow journals I decided to start my own stealth cfl grow. My girl is 17 days old. I had a mishap screwing with gnats where I busted one of the MG time release capsules on the first group of top leaves. this stunted her, but she has rebounded well. It looks like it may have turned out to be like topping her and give me 2 colas. I have 5 26 watt 6500k 1600 lumen bulbs, and a 42 watt 2700k 2400 lumen bulb on her now. I think my pot may a little big for my cabinet, but I was doing it on the cheap and figured it would be better to have to much than not enough. I will post more pics once I get a little more growth.

well today is day 19. i watered on sunday, and i think i need to water again tonight. shes in a big pot so i think that helps her stay moist, but i cant keep it below 90f in there. I am using a 1/8 strength 11-7-7 fertilizer until I see results, then i'll up it. I think she (I hope shes a she!!) has growed about an inch since my last update. how do yall think she looks? I think she recovered quite from my screw up, bushy for so small. ive only grown outside and none of mine ever done that.

Whats up people! my little bush is coming along real good, i am happy. I started to do the LST method, and it seems to be coming along pretty good. then I read an article that told about how to FIM, where you cut the top of the leaves from the top, but not the whole top. from what I gathered about that is you only cut the top third or less of the top shoot (or whatever exactly it is called). You can see where I did this about an inch below my thumb in picture 1, and again in between my fingers in picture 2 (if the pictures are numbered the way I think they are). I think I am going to let her get about 9 - 12 inches long, depending on how bushy she gets. I'd say she is about 4-5 inches now. its nice to see people taking the time to stop by and read through the post. I will post a new update in a few days, peace!

why do u have her pinned down to the ground ?

at the first post i noticed some leaves have yellow spots , u should check that out .

Hey nice grow man, she looks good so far. Don't worry about people not posting in you thread, it takes a little while....so many threads so little time.

I think hitting temps of 90 may stunt your growth, try taking a light or two out now while she's small, then when she gets bigger add the other lights. I only used 3 - 23 watt bulbs on my grow during veg then added a 4th during flowering and she turned out reeeeeal fine(check out my grow journal in my sig).

My First Grow

Pinning her down is the LST (Low Stress Training) method of growing her lower to the ground and makes her more bushy, and sometimes more colas. This is what I learned on this site.



thanks for the advice and encouragement spacemonkey. i have my grow box in a attic space with no HVAC system, so when it gets cooler outside it gets cooler in my box. but I think i can raise the lights up and cool her down too to prevent from stunting her. I checked out your grow and she is awesome! it was grows like your that inspired my own, so thanks again.

i checked on her this morning, and she seems to be growing so fast. It seems where I FIM'ed her, that growth has come out a whole inch since I cut her on Saturday. I loosened the pin for the LST because it seemed a lot of growth was pressed into the ground, so I thought maybe i bend her to far at once. I also pushed my lighting a little further away, so it styed right at 80 in there all night. I will post some pic's this weekend. i think by then i will have to put her into flower!!!Sunday will be day 31, so we will see!

What strain is it mang? (lol Im no ese)
Is it bagseed or ordered? I like seeing bag seed grows because its very interesting to see what kinda phenotypes are making it around the country as "mids" or "shwagg".

Hey Skunkybud-its just some seeds i had from some pretty good herb. I would like to know what strain, i am sure they all come from a strain somewhere along the way. Shes looking good. i think she should show sex pretty soon. Sunday is day 31 vegg, i want to start 18/6 or 12/12 soon but i'd like to know sex first. she has gotten bushy since my last pic update, i will post more in a couple of days, got to keep y'all on the edge of ya seats waiting!!!
