Alright so i'm starting my frist grow as of today i have some bag seeds germinating in a papertowel which i put in a ziplock baggie. I have one 42 watt cfl and i'm going to be using Miracle Grow Organic Mix for my soil. As far as nutes go i have some miracle grow flowering mix that i might use when i begin to flower, but i might just stick to plain old H2O all the way through. As you can see i'm using VERY TINY cups to put my plant in. I'm not expecting a yield past an eighth i just wanted to try and grow, and hopefully spoke my own homegrown. ANY INPUT IS HELPFUL. i dont even care if people bash this i will take everyones advice and use it to further enhance my grow

You would be much better off mounting that light horizontally. The end of the bulb is the least luminous.

i agree about mounting horizontal... however, i dont thik people realize how limited we are on mounting options using a diy pc grow box... looks like you have quite a bit of room in there... i'll subscribe... what are you planning on growing in there indica or sativa tomatoes? lol...

also... the cup deal is a good idea if you were wanting to monitor root growth.. i used it on mine and it worked fabulously... plan on having people ask if it is worth it.. growing such a small amount for such a long time... i got asked that a couple times... imho it is so worth it to smoke your own homegrown for once...
do you have aintake and exhaust? just wondering because you are gonna need fresh air in that little thing...

yeah i snagged the cup in cup idea from your thread lol
and yeah it took me FOREVER to put that bulb in i tried to make it as horizontal as possible without sacrificing too much vertical space and that was the end result
as far as seeds IDK i saved up some bag seed from all the flame bud i had and thats what i'll be using

and if you look in the bottom right hand corner you can see the exhaust fan it's like a neon green and as far as an intake i dont really have one lol the fan hanging down from the top is what i used cause i heard it's better to have air blowing on the stalk to make it stronger...and i always thought plants/tree ect. took in carbon dioxide and emitted oxygen, so i didn't an intake was necessary since i want to make it as stealth as possible i thought that having a bunch of light pouring out of the back of the computer might be too obvious but im not really sure about that

yeah man.. your def. gonna need a intake... what i am saying is this... do what you want, i am a newb, but i have done alot of research... and i know what i know, so at least consider my idea or theory should i say... 1) your box is gonna get really hot with out fresh air coming in... it is basically just circulating the hot air inside the box and pulling out what gets close to your exhaust... i would also place the exhaust at the top some where... hot air rises... there is no way to kool it because NOTHING cool is coming in... hence, intake... i dont see that you are running a filter on your exhaust... kool... you wont need one for awhile.. the smell doesnt get too strong for a lil bit... during this time figure out a way to get the intake on, because if you want stealth, your gonna have to stealthify the smell as well... if you run a filter... YOUR PLANTS WILL DIE (!) if you do not have a intake...it is hard enough for me to push filters with intake and exhaust using pc fans... i am working on figuring out how to get a 6 inch oscilating fan into use as my intake and two pc fans for exhaust... to me, fresh air to a plant is that important... what if you had to live in a hot stale box? that is sorta how i think of my plant... i treat it like a friend... if you wouldnt do it to your best friend, dont do it to the plant... take that how you will... i am super stoned rite now for the first time today... try to make your plant the most comfortable and provide it with every thing it needs when it needs it... learn how to read your plant... it WILL let you know when it needs water, food, light... basically everything... you just have to be in tune with it... just remember, if you put in too little, you can put a lil more in and be fine... if you put in to much, your fucked.. there is no way to undo it without fucking it up a lil... i dont know... i guess i ramble just as much stoned as i do sober... either way, i am going to go read up on some shit... hope you can apply some of this to your grow... deuce deuce nuccah, and keep it green...

p.s. i am pretty flattered about you getting the cup idea from me... however i must give credit, where credit is due... i think it was pitbudz87 not sure... i need to go read up his thread and see... however.. check that dude out... he got a ounce out of 16oz party cups... he was my inspiration, whether he was the one i learned the 2 cup trick from or not...

alright i am too a newb but will take your advice i'll work on creating an intake with some sort of covering so no light can come out, i just didn't know. oh and my idea for a filter is having two pc fans on the filter

you see where i put the circle i was going to put another fan when the time comes and then use the area inbetween put diy carbon filter i hope that'll work
btw how much does your plant smell as of now?
like is it similar to opening a baggie of super flame bud?

btw even though you might have gotten the idea from him i got it from you so that makes it your credit right? first time smoking in a week soo my bad if the majority of this makes no sense
