I'm trying to grow a few plants not a big harvest

I got (2) 150 watt equivalent / 2600 light out put in lumens.

will these lights work?? is the lumens to low??

these sound to be 40w cfl's, they should work well
for 2 plants, that would be a bit low lumens wise
much depends on how big you plan to grow the plants, you would need much more cfl's for larger plants

i have 8 40watt cfls on a single plant about 24 inches tall . i will be adding more!

A few is vague. You should have 50 - 100 watts for eachplant in veg, more in flower. And it should be mainly 6500k in veg and 2700k in flower.
