The only thing co2 solves is a lack of co2 and most growers in any kind of residence do not have a lack of co2. I think like a lot of stuff you read around here, co2, unless you have a huge commercial op, is hype to sell more stuff. Just my 2 cents.

One rebuttal is heat - higher co2 levels make plants able to withstand higher heat. But I think it's better to deal with the heat rather than adding co2.

Also, CO2 is generally the last step that serious growers use once they've gotten the other restraining factors down - light, water, nutrients, and atmosphere. Once you've reached a saturation point with your light, nutes, and water, the only way to increase yields is to enrich with CO2 to about 1500PPM (or 2000 if you're really locked in). Anyhow, I'm not sure if CO2 is really worth your time and effort growing under fluorescent lights (never have and can't comment with any intelligence), but my gut would tell me it's more of a waste of time, as the light would be more of a limiting factor then the lower levels of CO2. |

very very good and seem to be researched a lil.. 20-25 % thats a hell of a boost you think if it is such than i would think as you say once every other factor is mastered then it seems you would surely try to expand at that yield..as for the cfl's there are plenty of successful people on here that grow major grows a pound or more with cfl's so factor in the 25% to that and your talking another 4 0z per grow with enhanced co2..but anyway you just made me put together a nice reflector for my cfl's ty..lol

If you could get another 25% yield by using co2, every grower here would be using it - and they aren't.

I think I made it very clear that CO2 is the last step in the evolution of a very dialed-in grow. You can't argue with science; long story short, plants came around when there was about 1500-2000PPM of CO2 in the atmosphere, and that's the level that they thrive at. Lastly, the number of things that people can and should do for their grows but don't (proper lighting, proper nutes, proper testers, etc.) which would give them in the neighborhood of a 25% (at least, in the case of lighting and nutes) increase in yield somewhat puts your logic on its ear. |
