I have 5 seedlings that have sprouted in the last few days from some bagseed of descent chronic. i have a Mylar lined PC case with 3 23 watt CFLs, but only 1 is on right now cause i got no fan and it gets pretty hot (I'm pretty sure one seedling has already died from the heat). I plan to get 3 splitters and put in 3 more 6500K CFLs in, cause i only have 2700K one right now. I'll upload some pics in a few days. Any suggestions? I'm a complete begginer and have little cash.

Work out the fan / heat issue, for it will be around and get worse at the end if you keep adding lights

You can find a nice desktop fan for under $20you will need 2 or 3 of them

One to bring in clean air and one to remove and one for the plants

need that fan, they'll cook real quick with out some kind of ventilation

I had a PC fan but it burnt out when i tried to connect it to the light fixture ><. Will a couple of PC fans even to powerful enough? I think i'll need something bigger (and cheaper)...

For a PC grow, a couple of PC fans should be fine, but as you found out, don't overpower them. You can wire 2 together onto any old 12v wall wart like an old cell phone charger, then plug them into a regular outlet. If your box is well sealed otherwise, those two fans along with some passive intake holes opposite them should be plenty to keep it cool. If heat's still an issue, look into a piece of plexiglass or similar to separate the bulbs from the box, then use one of the PC fans to exhause just that space with the bulbs...you will unfortunately loose some lumens, but them's the breaks.

Don't forget odor control.

The Dimensions of the case is 18 x 17 x 8 inches. Its not completely sealed, i dont think i needs to be in my situation. can i just get a cheap small fan and put it opposite one of the holes in the case?
