You can use cfl's for vege, but always strongly recommend HPS, especially for flowering if not both. Cheers

i am setting up the hps tomorrow, room is almost ready i added another fan for the heat

hps is not necessary at all in veg stage. save $ on power & be able to put cfls all around the plant but if u do throw in a hps it will def speed up growing. good luck. ill be watching!

thats what I was thinking, it it necessary to set up HPS in veg or should I just leave the cfls?

just leave the cfls bra.and if its hot in that room already with the cfls a hps will make it so much warmer

its at 73-76 right now with 1 small (but powerful) fan..i was gonna install the second when i put my hps. im not paying for my electricty so.... the only thing i worry about is i am in a studio and the closet isnt closed, its lined with a curtain and plastic that i threw up to block the light then the mylar to reflect..

if ur not worried about the heat getting out of control & u dont pay ur elec bill & u have sufficient ventilation then throwin in a hps dosnt sound all that bad, in your situation i would use the cfls & the hps. baggahs will take off!!!

OK , here is an update, I have noticed in the past day that my Gods Gift was not happy (minor drooping) so i looked at the bottom of the pot and noticed that there were roots poling out, so i thought oh no it needs more room! So I went and bought a bigger pot, some super thrive (for the shock) and re-potted it.....wish me luck! Oh i added 2 pics from when the gods gift was a baby. As of now its 6 weeks old

Put it this way, if you want a strong and large grow then go HPS. If you want a smaller twiggier grow with heaps smaller buds then use cheap cfl's. Your call, its with you
