hey... new here and lovin it. 3 weeks into my first grow. read so many different posts i'm still not sure if i should be veging with daylight cfl's only or if i should mix with reds. started with one 6500k cfl over each plant. now, just purchased an adapter and added one 6500k and one 2700k cfl over each plant. anyone tell me which is best for veging? thank you in advance.

Around 70% 6500k for veg and then 70% 2700k for flower. A mix is always good.

50/50 is where i'm at now and with my setup its either 100% blue or 50/50 (only 2 bulbs per plant.) i had them going 24/0 until a couple of days ago. read in a post that some dark is better. so i started backing them down an hour a day. 1st day one hour of darkness, second day 2, ... and so on until i get to 18/6. is this a good idea or should i keep them at 24/0?

This is optimum for me as I'm doing a closet grow and cannot have tree like plants but still yield nicely. As in Ed Rosenthal's book he states "plants under 24/0 of light have 33% more growth than those on a 18/6 light cycle." |
