Well I started a small cabinet in my closet. The Lower section is 30w"x19d"x24t" which I plan to veg in. The upper section is 30w"x19d"x36t" which I will flower in. I only plan on running CFL's so as you can see in the pics so far, I have 8 26w 6500k and 1 3500k ( which I will have replaced with a 6500k by the next post ). I was thinking about adding 4 more 26w 6500k to the top set of lights. I have a 100cfm cpu fan exhausting in the upper right rear of the box, and a 100cfm cpu fan intake in the lower left front ( cabinet door ). I have a picture of the flower box undone. I am going to run 6 CFL's on each side ( 2 lower, 2 middle, 2 upper as needed ), then i plan on having 9 CFL's on the ceiling. Both ceiling's are adjustable in height. All CFL's in the flower box will be 2700k. I'll use 2 100cfm cpu fans for an exhaust on the top of the flower box and 2 100cfm cpu fans on the cabinet doors for an intake. I've been using Botanicare's ProGrow Soil since day 5 from seed. Pots are waaaaaaay too big, like a dummie I didn't use smaller pots for veg and then transplant to larger for flower. But since these were started from bagseed I hope to have 2 females. I'll then clone from there and just keep 4 small ones on a cycle, untill I can buy some better clones. Any input? All is welcome.

I'm curious - if it's in a closet why does it also have to be in a cabinet? And, there should be a mix of spectrum in veg and flower but sounds like you have enough of them.

Yea the cabinet is in a walkin closet, which also has all my clothes in it..... so should i run a few 2700k in the veg and a few 6500k in the flower? I've read that the mid-spectrum of light is useless for the plants. As proposed right now, I will have 13 23w (299w) in the veg box, and 21 23w (483w) in the flower box. Cooling and ventilation is not a problem as my house stays in the mid 70's all day long and the closet door stays open.

I believe the recommended ratio is 2:1. veg= 2 6500K: 1 2700k. opposite for flower
Thanks for the info. I'll switch out some of the 6500k and replace with 2700k. New to the cfl's. My avatar pic is about 40 plants.... of course we used MH for veg and HPS for flower...

Ok so here is Day 11 from seed. Pot #6 is pretty small compared to the rest and has very slight purple on the leaves. Pot #3 has 3 starter leaves which I have never seen before. On the underside of Pot #3's leaves they are all purple as the same color of the stem. I expect a dwarf from #6 but #3 I'm not sure about. Any input? How do they all look?

So here is Day 13 from seed. Looks like I was overwatering a bit so I let the pots dry out a little more than usual. All new growth appears to be good.

What do you guys think?

I'm using rootS organics, cocofiber hydroponic soilless media. Composed of coco fiber, perlite, pumice, worm castings, bat guano, kelp meal, soluble kelp, leonardite and greensand.

Ok another update.... On Saturday I added another 4 sockets with 4 more 23watt bulbs. Pics are of Day 18 from Seed.

Current grow config:

8 - 23watt 6500k bulbs
3 - 23watt 2700k bulbs
2 - 23watt 3500k bulbs
2 - 100cfm CPU fans for intake and exhaust
rootS Organics Soilless media
Botanicare Pure Blend ProGrow 3-2-4
PH of Nutrient/Water mix = 6.6
Lights = 24/0
Temp = 74 - 81 (Day and Night)
Humidity = 32% (Normal) 48% (Feeding Time)
Water/Feed = Every other day, or as needed, 1 gallon (water and nutes) fed amongst 6 (3 gallon) pots

They seem to be doing well. Any and all input and suggestions are definately appreciated. Thanks.

So I figured I had overwatered a week ago so I let them dry out more than usual and fed again with only pure water for several feedings. Ive been using mid-vegetative amounts of nutes for the last 2 waterings as directed but they seem a little droopy.... Need a little help people, with over 400 views some of you have something to say. Drop me a line. Do they look alright? Feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

Might be a little early to be using nutes?
Try plain water for a couple waterings and see if it helps.
It shouldn't be, when i had my last run we used nutes from germination and from clone and had a great outcome. I watered with pure water from germination untill about a week ago.... Soil was dry as far down as my index finger could go. So i watered again until there was just a little trickle of water coming out of the bottom of each container. Each time I water with nutes they seem to grow almost a 1/2" taller and 1" wider in overall diameter. They're all growing outwards and fat with not much height. Right now about 4" tall and span a full 3 gallon pot at Day 19. Could it be because I'm using a soilless media that I need to water more often?

Day 20 pics. I topped pot #5.... just waiting till i have females to clone from and then i'll start training or topping the next run. but for now here they are.

oh yea, i also had to cut all the bottom leaves off so that the plants could have better air flow underneath them.
