Whats up guys? im going to be starting my first grow here in the next couple weeks and im trying to get everything priced and figured out.

im planning on going with 4 plants in my closet, and need to know if the light setup im planning on using will be alright?

for the veg process, i was planning on using a 200-250 watt 6400k CFL that puts out 12,500 lumens.

for flowering, i was planning on using another 200-250 watt 2700k CFL that puts out 12,500 lumens as well.

thats the actual wattage of the CFL, not compared.

so do you think that will be enough power for 4 plants? they wont be monsters either, like i said they'll be closet grown.

also, i don't use the veg light and flowering light at the same time do I? i switch em out when i go to 12 on 12 off to start flowering right?

thanks for reading, i dont wanna change out the lights im using, CFL's are a must, so can you tell me if these are ok, or if i need to add more?

First, if you don't have them I wouldn't buy them. But if you do have them use the 200s as you say mounted sideways overhead in a reflector hood. But then add a few small cfls around the side in veg and make them 2700, the same in flower but make a few 6500. You will probably want more 2700 sidelight in flower as well as the plants get larger.

cool thanks man. but why shouldn't i use the CFL's i listed, whats wrong with them?

can't get any other type of light due to price, heat, and electric inefficiency.

so its ok to have a 6400k running for veg and add maybe one 2700k on each side? and then during flowering run a 2700k with a 6400k on each side?

i thought you had to use 6400k for veg and 2700k for flowering only?

Hey here's what I use and it's working great so far I'm two and a half weeks into veg and there going on 7 to 8 inches tall and and the same in width I use on one plant I went to home depot (the gf works there) I bought a 10 inch heat lamp with no bulb then went up isle I little bit picked up a Y adapter then went over to the flourecent section picked up two 27 watt daylight cfls and put them in the heat lamp over one plant and I have them about two inches away because I'm not home all day basicly every day so they can grow over an inch in a day with out growing into the light bulb now I paid 42 bucks for everything well plus another 22 bucks but just pm me if you want my whole intire setup and everything I've done

I agree. The smaller cfls are more efficient, are easier to position and cost less per watt. I never use cfls larger than 42w.
