Default Will these bulbs work?
Of for flowering purposes would a set of 2 or 4 of these work?

Now I have to buy 10 of these @ 1.99 a piece.. but seems very reasonable.

Or not?

He looks like ZORRO, eating poo.

You want "cool white" for vegging, and warm for flowering - but yes, CFLs will do.

If you're using T5 HO tubes, I wouldn't bother with the CFLs at all. They'll be more trouble than they're worth, really. Get some 2700k fluoro tubes for that fixture, though.

Anyway, 2700k for veg and 6500k for flowering.

Well I was hoping I could keep those and work with cfl lights for the side. Down the road I wanted to go with another set of T5 tubes but with only 2700k spectrum and not the 6500k.

I mean couldnt I get away with using cfl like using 8 that put out 1700 lumens @ 2700k? The only thing I am trying to find is a reflector that will fit using the Y connector.

I figure If I utilize those y connectors, it wont be as messy with cables.

This is all going to be in a 5 x 4 x 8 closet. In addition to my t5 's.

I wanted hps but I dont have the money for the cooling and nec. equipment. I was looking at some of these journals grown with just cfls... looked impressive.

I use T5s and CFLs, and I have been less than impressed with the CFLs thus far. I have Y splitters, and I wish you luck trying to find a reflector to fit =p unless you use 13W (tiny!) bulbs.

My main problem with CFLs is having to constantly rearrange those fuckers, and I don't have anything in my grow room to attach them to (they're the clamp-on fixtures), so I've settled for a careful system of balancing them on the edges of my pots. I've even started to suspect the CFLs are somehow slowly murdering my plants while I'm not watching. In the name of science, I decided to remove the CFLs from one of my plants and let it grow under just the T5, and that plant is absolutely thriving compared to the others.

I'm keeping my T5, and planning on adding more, but I'm giving up the CFLs and going for a 400W HPS =)
