Default CFL filter
I only have access to high kelvin CFL. Im trying to flower but need the lower k bulbs. Since I can not get access to them where I am, is there a way to lower the K ratings through filters? As in, can i get a yellow hue transparent plastic sheet to try to lower my K rating.
Im pretty sure that this will lower the lumens the light emits after it passes through the yellow.
Any light experts out there varify what if this is possible?

I think a filter would work, that's how photographers use to control the "K" of light.

I'm pretty sure that won't work. Why can't you get them? You can get 40w 2700k cfls on amazon.com for a little over $5 each and that's shipped.

Im not in the states. I miss the conveniences of such big box places and the reason why im growing is that it is really hard to get where i am. I dont want to publicly post where but if you are that curious, pm me and i will say.

So the filter may work. I may have to go to some photography forums to check up on it but your answers are very appreciated. I know (or i think i know) that filters lower the lumens of light but what is important is the light spectrum i get for my babies.

I think if you use cellophane sheets might work I would try getting a yellow one, I wouldn't get the strongest tint for it.

the filter will lower your lumens because your cutting out light, and finding the right color will be difficult, it will be easier and cheaper to just buy another set of bulbs,

look for these filter (81A, 81B, 81C, and 81EF) or 81 series, these are photography filters, try to look for them and get something close to the color, they look kind of pinkish, the 85 series which is much stronger.

Filtering light works by subtraction - IE the light that is filtered, is absorbed and later released as heat... You're drastically reducing the efficiency of your lights by absorbing the majority of their output...

Especially since most CFL's fluoresce with a phosphor coating - that emits light in very specific bandwidths...
