Home Depot. http://www.homedepot.com/Lighting-Fa...atalogId=10053
12 x 23w for $21 with a 9 year warranty. Not the cheapest outright but that's 9 years of free lights. With your budget you could get two of those cases along with clamp lights and Y splitters - 552w for pretty cheap and with a warranty

The best value in cfls are the 40 and 42 watt. You can out 2 of them in a large clamp reflector with a Y adapter. I get 2700k 40w from amazon.com for just over $5 each, shipped. 6500k are a bit more, $8 something but still that is shipped. Don't buy from stealthhydro.

I have seen 2 post that say not to buy here, with no reason why and I have seen a few post from a long time forum member saying to use them? even has a coupon code to use? In my reasearch it would seem that the CFL's from SH are some of the highest output for $$$ there are, but I am a noob hence the reason I am asking this question??? |

Dual Spectrum 65 High Output Fluorescent Bulbs - $23 and 3400 lumens - and from my understanding these arn't dual spectrum, they just offer either red or blue. The true multi spectrum red and blue bulbs in one are even more expensive and even more of a waste, a fuller spectrum is good but equal parts red and blue is a waste of electricity per usable lumen output. If you want multi spectrum throw a few 6500's in with your 2700s
Home depots equivalent (65w) is about the same price and 3900 lumens. It's not like stealth hydro bulbs are better, they just tell you which ones to buy because most people don't know how to read kelvin rating on bulbs and need replacement bulbs and think their system uses something special. The 23w are 1600 lumens. So for $23 you could buy all 12 of the 23w and end up with 19,000 lumens that are more easily dispersable amoung your plants than one 3400 lumen bulb that can only be directly near part of one plant. High wattage bulbs send their light further however still cannot beat proximity to plants. 23w from 2 inches should be about the same as 65w from 4 inches. Big bulbs do however produce less heat compared to lumens but anyone that complains about CFL heat is alittle crazy. The link I sent you is a case of bulbs best suited for flowering. You can find the same case in the spectrum for vegetative growth (the flowering bulbs would work just not as well) and you can also find single and 4 packs of the same bulbs at home depot with the same 9 year warranty Was looking at stealth hydro again and their prices are just really outa whack. Their odor eliminating bulbs are $60 a piece when the company that came up with the technology sells theirs in a 2 pack for $20.

It's not like stealth hydro makes anything. They just buy stuff and resell it. It's easy to see that the best watts per dollar value in cfls are the smaller 23 and 42 bulbs. All cfls emit 64 lumens per watt. What's fast replacing cfls is the t5 HO flourescent tubes in 48 or 24 inch lengths. They are what I use overhead now, and they can also be mounted vertically on the sides. Harder to move around than cfls and more pricey, but they produce more lumens per watt and according to many are the equal of hid lights without the heat,.
