thats one big ass cfl

bigger is not better, smaller cfl get better lumen to watt ratios witch means you save some power and less heat, unless you don't care.

Hmm im tight on space so I had to move my upcoming grow from my attic to a 6' tall 30" wide rubbermade cabinet. I was going to put the 2 250w cfls in a large winged reflector that I can raise and lower.

I dont think I can fit 6 23w in there and aiming isnt much of an option. Heat wont be a concern as I have 2 bathroom vent fans in the top of the cabinet.

My thoughts were to get as much light as possible in a tight space and reli on mirrors and milar to spread it out.

I suppose I could install a few (2-3) smaller cfls facing up from around the hydro reservior to help hit the lower leaves.

FYI...I moved my grow space to the attic - Pro: More space; Con: Very difficult to control temperature - too hot in summer, too cold in winter. A small heater works well in winter, but in summer it's nearly impossible to cool the attic (unless I put a space air conditioner in there, which will take a lot of energy and be noisy).

Just something to think about.

Yup they have those bulbs at home depot for right at $20 each.. Those arnt the big grow ones but ok. They actually come in 250 and 300 watt actual watts and I have a place that makes up to 700 watt cfls actual wattage

those 125 watts cfls are nice but they also come in 200 and 250 actual watts and larger

Yes, I have 125 watters, 200 and 250 watt cfls. The bigger = more heat. Smaller ones can be moved around more for more light penetration and a larger area of light coverage.
