I have a question. I haven't been growing with CFL lights all that long. Well about 7 months is total time I have been experimenting with these CFL bulbs. I have only grown (harvested one plant) and currently have one left. Seems to be a female.

I started 12/12 as soon as they hit the soil.

Well, not really. I gave them about a week, full weeks worth of light. 7 days of 24 hour lighting.

anywho.. the one hermied on me. So I chopped him down. Make some hash. <

But there's the other plant.. that's still thriving like no tomorrow. Seems almost like her growth has slowed down. Well, vertical growth. It is still getting bushier everyone week though. Just wondering how long flowering usually takes using cfl lights.

I'm using 2 250watt Spiral CFL bulbs. 2500k.
I also am using one 150watt 6500k mixed in with the 2500k bulbs. She's been in flowering since seed. I started her at 12/12 from seed. She's at least 5 weeks old. So she's been in 12/12 since her first set of true leafs.

Does it usually take longer to flower under cfl lights? I mean I know it that some times, it depends on what strain you are growing but.. general flowering time for all pot is like between 4.5 weeks - 12weeks even. So who knows.

I'd say 9 weeks. As for light, you have the right mix of 2700 and 6500, but are those actual watts or equivalents? If the latter, you need some more light, acouple more 42w actual in 2700k would do a lot. Plus, how far are you keeping the bulbs from the foliage? You want it down to like 2 inches.

With a 12/12 from seed, (or a week long veg) your plant is going to be short, I wouldnt worry about that. That is one of the reasons people do the 12/12 cycle from seed.

Im gonna agree with Illegal on the flowering time, 8 or 9 weeks at minimum.

thanks for the help Illegal, and I tend to keep my lights about 2 inches away. no further away than that from the plants. CFL lights don't really put out the dangerous amount of heat that would hurt any of the foliage on my plant. Even being 250watt bulbs. And to answer your bulb question bro, these bulbs only put out 25owatts (equivalant to a 250watt incadescent bulb.) These bulbs are fucking bright for being CFL bulbs. Total lumens for each bulb is... (reading off the side of the box) lumens for each bulb is exactly 3200 lumens. So the box says. Could be alittle more or even a little less that what it says though ya dig?

Yea, I like keeping my grows.. I like to be able to control the individual height of each plant. You can do what I did.. start 12/12 from seed.

Or there are other ways to get your plant(s) to bush out.. and getting the plant(S) to concentrate more on side growth.. bushing out.. rather than using all the energy they got during the day (Photosynthesis) to grow upwards.. they concentrate more on bushing out the sides.

so yea.. 8-9 weeks eh? Alright. Then I currently have about 6 weeks left.
