Default CFL Grow 8th week flowering first grow

I feel like I should post my grow on the regular CFL forums, I'm growing in Aerogarden hydroponics, with 2 68w, 2 40w, 2 26w and 3 23w bulbs. The plant is doing well but went through some nutrient burn along with some spider mite action but the nugs are done and going to be harvest in a week.

If you go to my grow journal in my signature you'll see the entire life of the plant practically.

Watch those trichs with high magnification and remember to keep in darkness 48 hrs before chopping. Looking good!

This is the first I've heard of 48 hours of darkness. What does it do? How important is darkness, I've heard about harvesting the plant in darkness and curing the first week in darkness then after a week put it all in a jar and close it and burp every 24 hours.

Whats a good method for curing?

Nice buds, pretty impressive for a first grow. It does look like there's some mite damage, and/or heat damage. I'm really not sure though. It's difficult to diagnose from online photos sometimes. Although keep in mind if mites are breeding, higher temps will increase the rate of their production. So to control them keep temps low, and keep everything sanitized. Even doing this you'll still likely get some mites. Most likely pot has been dealing with mites for a long time, and in my experince shows no ill effects from a small and controled mite situation.
