I have been vegging under five 85watts cfl s which are around 6000k but my plants look weak to me, do you think they are ok for 8 plants. They are about 12cm s away from highest plant.



I have 8 fluoro tubes from philips sylvania and osram plantastar that I have not installed yet. Do you think they would be sufficient or shall i add another five of 85watts CFL with 2700k spectrum.

They are 44 days from seed by the way.

im not an expert but they seem small for being 44 days old...as for the light question, everyone will tell you more is better when it comes to cfls and flouros...especially if you are growing multiple plants

im assuming 85 watts is the equivlant, and then no you probably dont have enough for that number of plants, depending on how much space they take up. You want to have at
LEAST 5000 lumens per square foot, 10,000 is ideal. Hard to tell how big you room is but a 2x2 room should have at least 20,000-40,000 lumens. At day 44 plants should be about a foot tall imo.

Ok I bought 4 more 85 watts cfl s with 2700k yesterday, will be installing them on monday.
Installed two fluoros of sylvania, 6 more to go,
This means I will have 9 of 85watts CFL, and 8 of 36watt fluoro.
In total I have 45.000lumens from CFL s as they are 5000lumens each and 9600lumens from fluoros as they are 1200 each
Grand total of 54.600lumens for 80cm by 80cm grow room.

I think i know what it is u need to trasplant in to bigger pots your plants are root bound

that's not true. I've seen people grow from start to finish in 16 ounce cups and yield 1 O per plant. True, a bigger pot will yield bigger plants. But, his plants are growing abnormally slow. Plus, i don't think you get rootbound that fast.

i think its a nutrent defency or ph. what does any1 else think?
