Hello everyone, I finished making my grow box today, ill have pictures of it soon. I am planning on growing 2 plants in a box which is about 2.5x2.5x4 feet.. Ill have 4, 42W daylight cfls for veg and 6, 26W warm white cfls and a 20W warm white fluorescent tube for flowering.. Will this be enough to get a decent yield? By the way the walls of the box are painted white and Im still deciding on what nutrients to get...

jus go ahead and use both sets of bulbs for the whole grow...even tho the plant uses less of the other light iv found it helpful. sounds good 2 me tho man. and id order nutes but really u can use anything.

I finally got some pictures of my grow box, but remember that this is my first grow and its just an experiment. I will also add 2, 26 watt warm white cfls during veg, and then 4 more when I flower. I'm planning to build a better box out of wood and get a 400watt hps in a couple of months. Also, I'm aware of the fact that the cardboard box is a fire hazard but I got a big fan which cools the lights down so they arent too hot. I can easily hold them without getting burnt.. Im still waiting for my seeds to arrive, I bought them last Thursday. (5 Shiskaberry X Buddha seeds) so I soon as I get them Ill plant them in 16oz cups, then replant them into 2.5 litre pots (visible in the pictures), and finally into 1.5 gallon pots.

Now I got a couple of questions. First of, is the soil in the picture going to work? I'm not planning to mix it with "regular garden soi", is this a bad idea? Secondly, I've noticed that a lot of people were saying that miracle grow isn't the greatest for growing mj. But is it alright if I feed the plants 1/4 the strength 2 weeks after the plants sprout and then keep feeding them that till I flower. Then Ill purchase better nutes, not miracle grow.

Thanks for reading. If there is anything I can do better, then let me know. But keep in mind that Im not planning on spending too much money on this grow.

That's top soil. No sense in telling you to add compost, etc., since you are using chem nutes. But the nutes will work, I would wait 3-4 weeks before adding 1/4 strength. I would add some perlite and maybe a little sand to that top soil. Actually i would just go to wallyworld and get a $4 bag of potting soil. I hope you have a smoke detector, that looks a bit dangerous.

Your making a Miracle Gorw 'no no'. Don't use MG unless you HAVE to. Its no good for growing mj. I would rather use dirt with gravel bits in it.

I Like your box man, I have something close to that, with 6 CFL's 4 weeks vegging, I would recommend to LST them, you might get more yield out them...
