you really should veg for at least 30 days but it can be started right off with 12/12 but its not recomended. Also stretching plants is not good because the buds develop at the nodes and less nodes equal less buds. the further apart they are the less overall weight and size of each bud in the harvest. Also i just built a stealth cab and i have 4 42 watts installed. they are 2800 lumens each. also i have 3 6500k and 1 2700k spectrum bulbs for veg. check it out.

Hey you live and learn right? I kept my lights no more than 2" throught the whole grow unless I was taking pictures or messin around with em.

Funny thing is for the majority of the vegetative state I was using one 13W CFL. Kinda surprised it got this big!

But yeah I've had it on 24/0 since the start. The plant vegged for about a month and a half.

I don't know if I'm buying you get less nodes if the plant streches. Yes, if the plants were equal sizes and one had nodes every inch versus one that had nodes every 3 inches, you would expect more bud from the one with nodes every inch. However if two plants grown the same amount of time, one just happened to stretch, I believe they would have the same amount of nodes, one just has them more spaced out. In-fact I get slightly more bud off my slightly stretched plant because my setup is able to light the inside buds of the plant better.

Your plant was probably just starving for light after being vegged under 1 X 13 watt CFL for a month. Also most root growth happens during dark so I recommend you veg at 18/6 next time. Once the plant got more light, and some darkness to grow better roots, the thing probably just took off like rocket.

You get more bud from plants that are tight and bushy. There is no way that your stretched plants are getting buds like this:

It is a fact that plants with close node spacing produce more than stretched out plants. These are not my buds they are the user Mammath's check out his grows to prove my point some more

Thanks you for pointing out that someone who uses Metal Halid and HPS is growing better and more condensed plants than me, cause I thought CFL is how you get the best yield!

hes just saying with your ammount of light theres no way your buds can match half that, with more lights yes it can.

im on my first serious grow right now, and im putting my pink kush plant to flower today i spent 20$ lastnight at walmart and got 2 3 packs of cool white 23's theres 138 watts of raw CFL action.

So you really think that stretchy plants yield more? You are wrong dude, you want your plants to grow short and stout so that you can get buds like that. With an attitude like that you are never going to grow big buds. CFL's can work great and produce big buds also
