In your guide you mention something about Dual Spectrum. I am assuming you were referring to both low and high Kelvin CFLs? If I understand correctly you are suppose to use a higher K CFL for veg and lower K CFL for flowering, or am I suppose to use both through out the whole grow process? I was looking around online for CFLs and I happened to see the link that you posted for cheap CFLs, and the prices seem very competitive. I plan on having somewhere around 10 plants ( I am gonna TRY to use the exact method that is in the guide you posted) using 2 Bubbleponics systems with 5 slots each. It seems as though I am gonna need about 400w. Would you recommend that I use 2 of the 200w Fluorescent Grow Bulbs? or break it down and get about 4-5 of the 85w bulbs? I know the site doesnt offer 85w bulbs, but those 200w Fluorescent Grow Bulbs just seem to cheap. Also I know for each flowering and veg process you need diff types of Kelvin bulbs, but does the amount of Watts you need stay the same regardless of what stage you are in?

i would try to keep the same amount of wattage through out the grow...although i didnt follow that myself...iv added and added and added as iv gone...because of course the plants got bigger...but basically during veg use higher k bulbs...and then add a couple lower k bulbs.....iv read alot recently about the fact that mixing spectrum is good for ur plants...but that u want to have more of the correct k bulb for each stage. so during flowering swap out ur lower k bulbs for higher k and then ur higher k bulbs for lower k....that way u always have more of the correct k bulbs during each stage but still have some opposite bulbs for mixing spectrum up. on the wattage thing iv heard more smaller wattage bulbs are better. and in my opinion they are because u have the ability to move them around seperately better...if that makes sense.

FFS, this is why i try and stay away from reading or trying to post something constructive while i am STONED. I was wondering why I was having trouble getting a grasp of what was going on. I didn't know that there was an actual bulb called "Dual Spectrum II", thought it was just referring using 2 diff Kelvin bulbs. I am going to assume that it would be a safe assumption to make that Roseman has tried both the Dual Spectrum II and other types of CFLs. Not sure what you use now, but have you been able to notice a considerable difference between the 2? I know you can't always believe what you read, but the site refers to those bulbs as "THE" bulbs to use, in terms of efficiency and low heating.

Where can i get those y spillter. I couldnt find any at home depot. Also is it better to use y splitters and use 12~14 42 watts or get those cclamp reflectors and put them on top of plants and put those y splitters on side?
I could only find "daytime" 42 watts cfl's only and mostly are lower wattage. Also they have a 2700k 60 watt CFL which wouldnt work for me since i plan on using the CFLS mostly for veg and try to get new lighting.
So where can i get the y splitters and regular bulb sockets with a cord? I could only find the whole thing with clamps and reflectors.
Thanks

the y splitter are there...they are close to the ceiling sockets in my home depot they were on the next aisle ovr from the bulbs...theres all kinds of splitter wall sockets sockets that have switches on them. just ask someone there they have them thats where i got mine. use the clamp reflectors...make sure u get the bigger ones or ull hafta take them off..cus the y splitters basically angle the bulbs at 90 degrees so they stick out to the side alot...i took all the domes off mine and just threw the splitter in then and put it sorta around my plants...but ya use the y splitters on the work clamp lights and throw some bulbs in there...u good to go just make sure u get right "k" bulbs

those clamp and reflector thing should b regular sockets all mine were...unless we are talking about 2 different things...i went to the work light section of home depot and found these silver domed clamp lights. and then work fine for my cfls.

and use that 2700k bulb. mixing spectrum is good in both stages...so if ur doing veg just make sure u have more daylight bulbs and a couple soft white(2700k) bulbs..

BOTH is better, or if you have more than two bulbs (one of each) then use MORE of the one for the Cycle you are in. The sun never produces just one spectrum.

The CFLs with 105 watts and up DO make HEAT, so to avoid any VENTING expense, I prefer the 42s, 65s, and 85 watt bulbs.

For both cycles, with CFLs, you use as many watts as you can. Actually, as posted a page back, you determine how much light you need based on lumens per square foot, instead of wattage.
CFLs make about 65 to 75 lumens per watt. You need a bare minimum of 3000 lumens per sq ft, and 10,000 lumens per sq ft duplicates the sun's rays and is MAX and most desirable.

There is NOT one bulb called Dual Spectrum. DUAL SPECTRUM as used byt he Stealth Hydro people means using two bulbs, one of each, at the same time.

thought it was just referring using 2 diff Kelvin bulbs. Right, it is.

I use several 42, 65, 85 and 105 watt CFLs, a mix of 2700K, 4100K and 6500 K at the same time.
