do yourself a favor and buy a decent 600 watt light. it will cost you a little bit more but i guarantee you will be 100x happier every grow from this one on

23 watt are around 1600 lumens(70 lm/W). 42 watt is around 2800 lumens(67 lm/W). 65 watt is around 3900 lumens(60 lm/W). 105 watt CFL is around 6700 lumens(64 lm/W).
The lower the wattage, typically the higher efficiency. Down to 13 watts, below that it usually dips again. Measure the cup's diameter, divide by the width&length of the grow space. Use that many cups. The more the better. Figure males and disease/pests will reduce your numbers by at least half. You could probably fit several dozen 16 oz cups in that space. Just be sure to get the opaque cups, and not transparent cups. Roots die from direct light. Realistically you could cover 4 sq feet of seedlings with a couple 42w bulbs, or four 23/26w bulbs(this would be better). Assuming reflectors are used.

ya u deff want to use fans...and when it comes to yield. it depends on more than just lighting. Nutes, soil, water,ph,strain, position of lights...all kinds of stuff all affect ur yield...and also it depends on how many plants u fit in that area.

If i were you, i would either use 2 150w HPS or 2 250w HPS. I would also make 2 DIY Cooltubes and have them in-line with their own fan.
http://www.rollitup.org/view.php?pg=...article&id=565 You can get the Pyrex bake-a-rounds for about $15 bucks on eBay, and check stores like home depot or lowe's for "outdoor security lights to get the HPS's. http://www.rollitup.org/view.php?pg=...=article&id=30 That space is just too big for CFLs...

Use CFLs for side lighting, but I'd use 2 small HIDs instead of on big one. Since it's not square, and most systems these days are designed for squares, you get better coverage with the same amount of light. More ideal for a SOG setup.
