So I bought this book that's a sticky on this forum...great book I would recommend it to anyone considering starting this hobby

I would like to hear some comments / suggestions before I plant.

Here's the set up.

I am using an extra bathroom we do not use. I am setting up 4 - 3gal pots to plant in soil. I am even using miracle grow and adjusting the watering ph as suggested in the book.

So as far as the lighting goes, I have 18- 26watt cfls (100w equiv) the lights are on 1 by 4s split into 3 pieces held together with metal lumber straps. I have a splitter on the center outlet giving me 2 bulbs over the plant and then one on each side of each plant. I also added another light fixture to the front of plant light one and the back of plant light four (think of a bulb coming from all directions around the bathtub). Each of the 4 fixtures is suspended individually on a chain from the ceiling. I have timers in place and reflective material around the lighting.

I have covered the window in the room and only have the bathroom exhaust fan for exhaust. The room without the lites on stays about 72 degrees at about 45-50% humidity.

I am only using seeds I have saved from some great bud I had recently. I am using a paper towel to germinate (how long does this normally take?) I am on day 2 and the towel is getting a little brown from the seeds and they look like they are getting close to opening. I have them in a ziploc bag on top of an aquarium light that gets pretty warm.

Any pointers suggestions or comments on the book I would greatly appreciate. I am using it as my guide and will see how it goes.

So, how is this going? I am curious to see a pic of the bath tub set up as I am doing something like that...using miracle gro moisture control
