Hi all, complete and utter newbie here

intend to grow a couple of plants and was wondering what you all thought of the following cfl light setup ( comes as a job lot ).

2 x 18w 6500k
3 x 12w 6500k
4 x 12w 2700k
7 x 20w 2700k

Any help appreciated

the K ratings are perfect but due to the wattage of the cfl's they probably don't have many lumen's. (23w = 1600-1700 lumens). and i beleive 12w is like 600 lumens or something like that so the 3 12w are prolly = to 1 23w

But hey i dont have the package so Look the box over and find the avail lumen's. I'm not sure about veg but i believe that flowering you want like 3k lumen's per sq ft.

Please keep in mind that Lumens do not add. They are similar to batteries. If you have 2 8 volt batteries in an electronic device it still operates at 8 volts, they do not add. In order to get more lumens you need a higher wattage bulb. 42 seems to be very rewarding for the price although I'm not sure exactly what the lumen output on them is. Good luck!

P.S. it's not like what you have won't grow a crop, you just may not be thrilled with the time it takes to position all of your lights just to find out you got a few popcorn buds.
