Hey, this is my first grow. ill be using 8 27 watt daylight cfl's for vegging and ill probably be buying a 600 watt hps for flowering. right now i have one sprout and 4 unsprouted seeds under 2 27watt daylight cfl's . i germinated the seeds using the paper towel and sandwich container for 2- 3 days and planted them when the root was about 3/4 of an inch long. my one sprout looks very unhealthy and droopy and the stem is very skinny and dry. ive been misting the sprout and unsprouted pots once or twice a day. what am i doing wrong? please help quick! I dont want my seedlings to die!

I had the same problem.... you have too many lights on the seedlings.... I used 4 till the stem was strong... How many fans are you running? I 'm new also, so hope I could help....

i'm new too, so take this help with a bit of salt. i sprouted my nl#5 under 3 26w cfl, so 2 26w should be ok. when you say skinny that probably means tall and thin. either your temperature is too high or the cfl's are too far away. pics are helpful if possible.

sorry to hear that, not sure what happened, sounds like you watered ok
most RIUers seem to put their cfl's at 2 inches or closer to the plant. some seedlings do die, no one bats 100 percent

so the seedlings shown no growth, is drooping a bit, is turning yellow on part of the leaf and the stem is dry and about as thick as a piece of string. i watered the plant with about 20 ml of water and stopped misting. PLEASE HELP

ok first of all u can never have to much light for a seedling.......how would they survive an outdoor grow???? i also have 10 23w CFL's on 4 seedlings.....growing strong.......u may be watering to much and your seedling can't breath......if all doesn't go good just start another seed....depending on heat seedlings only need to be watered every 2 days sometimes 1....

ive been watering with sparkling carbonated water. could this be the problem?

yes there is your problem right there......cannabis roots take in the oxygen......Co2 is absorbed above the soil therefore you need to foliage feed with sparkling water....NOT WATERING THEM.

how much distilled water should i be giving them?
