In my research 26-30watt lights are 3x more powerful in lumens per dollar than 85, and 105 watters.
But do the high powered ones do a better job? Do they put off light for a wider distance? Or is 1200 lumens just 1200 lumens no matter how you add it up. Thanks. |

I think out of all the various sizes and wattages the 42 watt bulbs are the most efficient at 66 lumens/watt, but they arent the best value
CFL's are omnidirectional, they emit light in all directions, so getting a reflector will help 26 watt CFL's are common and cheap, you can get a 4-pack for $10-$15 at any color temperature. For example: $6 power strip $10 (4) direct plug-in socket adapters $12 4-pack 26 watters ------------------------- $28 for 6400 lumens $7 clamp light $3 Y-adapter socket $20 (2) 42 watters ------------------------ $30 for 5600 lumens $7 clamp light $15 68-watter ------------------------ $24 for 4200 lumens |
