CFL Hydroponic Micro Grow

This is a grow for anyone who is in an apartment and doesnt have much space, like me. Not sure how it will finish out but its doin ok so far. i started in late January. It is now spring break and i am still up at college alone cuz i dont want to leave my plants considering one hasn't shown sex yet. I planned on having a grow cab from the start, but was too excited to start growing once i got the stuff. I later found the cab i wanted and moved my plants from a small cardboard box set up (lame) to the grow cab i bought at a hardware store and lined with mylar i ordered online. Just a simple bubbleponic set up tubberwear containers with the air stone and the plants in baskets above it and all that stuff. I use Botanicare's Pure Blend Pro Grow for veg and Botanicare's Pure Blend Pro Bloom for flowering. This is i guess my first real grow, so any suggestions would be helpful. Ill get more pics of how exactly my cab is set up if people are interested but i dont have pics now. I do have pics for my plants from the end of January up until now. I had 4 plants then but one was dying and i pulled it. Here is my first plant. this one has been flowering about 17 days now. I sadly had to do ALOT of trimming early on because i had no space for the plants all to get light. Dumb but they seem to have turned out ok with all the hacking i did i didnt put those pics up of this plant cuz i dont like them. The dates they were taken are in the file names. these and the more pics that will follow shortly of my 4 other plants!

These are my 2 plants i started with the 1st one. The smaller of the 2 just showed female signs today. The bigger one should be showing any day now. weird lookin plants too =P

This is the seed i started after the other ones planted them in the first week of feb. Im learning with the first 3 to do these ones. I have a dro and soil grow. The drow is a feminized white widow seed and the soil is a Mazar x Afghan seed I got free from http://www.marijuana-seeds.nl/ Both looking very nice. I Only cut a few fan leaves off either when they gor as big as my hand, and the mazar grows in my roomates room in his micro soil grow. mazar has HUGE leaves compared to other very small cannabis plants but it is looking greaat even after the trim. Just started flowering on both this week, waiting for signs. This is the white widow

For some reason my comp wouldnt let me upload more pics on a single reply. this is the last post. ill get something better figured out. in the mean time here are some pics of the Mazar x Afghan im growing in soil. Started in a solo cup then moved to a bigger pot. this one was also planted in the first week of february. I trimmed off 2 very large fan leaves so some of the nodes under them could get some light. Very thick stalk. dark leaves. exactly what is expected. enjoy!!

I have them in 3in nets and 2 plants per 3gal rez (16"x11" tubberwear) i just pulled them out to take pics of them and put them on a lid with one hole in the middle. I am using 6 23watt softwhite CFL's the cheaper ones from walmart.

below i have pics of my female plant and White Widow flowering in the cab and pulled out of the cab. these pics are about a week old. I then have an older pic of the cab from mid feb while all 4 plants were in one chamber. the top right chamber is now being used for 2 of my plants. Also getting the cab ready for the other 2 chambers on the left and the cloning chamber on top, but i need to get a good inline fan.

p.s. i would get a better pic of my rez and of how my set up all works later today maybe if i can get ahold of a camera.

I changed the rez today. I dont have the money for a ppm meter yet so im pretty much going by what it says on the jug of nutrients. After doing a little math to figure out how much to put in my 2.5 gal of water (I run all my water through a Brita Filter before putting it in the 5gal pail) I found out that I should add 5 tablespoons of Botanicare's Pure Blend Pro Bloom for every 2.5 gal of water. I have a pump i bought at the local hydroponic store, and i just got another battery pump but dont have batteries. what the hell uses D batteries anymore? stupid but here are some pics of me changing the rez and how my rez is set up. I also spray my plants with carbonated water (no sodium). I also have a little pH kit. it cost $17 has pH UP and DOWN, dropper, vial, and the test dye stuff. yellow = 6 i try to keep it as close to 5.8 as possible but this is only so accurate, but very cheap and it works.
I have pics here of what i used today (nutrients, ph kit and sparkling water) filtering my water pumping old shit out of the rez, pumping frest water back in, spraying the plants with co2+h2o, the inside of my rez with the air stone on, the air tube from my basic aquarium air pump going into the side of my rez, and what the chamber these plants are in looks like with all the wires going to the area above it. any tips or questions would be nice. -peace

Found out my biggest is a male. sucks but its ok 2 out of 3 of the bagssed were females and thats a good ratio. i whould know aobut the mazar and white widow soon.

got some pics i took last night. here are a just a couple bud shots. not much, but its a start. she is at about 3 weeks into flowering. Im excited to see how she looks in a month! also a pic of how my 3 plants in the cab, and a pic of my mazar x afghan which sucks cuz i had to trim a bit cuz i didnt have space where she was growing but she is rocovering ok and i should know sex very soon). Its one of the seeds i got for free from www.marijuana-seeds.nl here she is growing in my roomates grow box with his girl (bagseed: only 1 out of the 4 he planted was a female) she has been flowering a week or 2. not sure exactly.

Ohh yea that looks phat the way you split them up, how often do you clean that and when the roots start growing out of the pots do you trim them or just let them sit in the water.

I havent been trimming the roots ive just let them grow. Some roots got a bit of light early on, im still working on that. I clean out the rez really quick when i change it just by wiping it down and making sure all the dead shit and other stuff isnt in there.

Update: Mazar ended up being a male : ( oh well. My one female is at about 26 days of flowering.

The other hasnt done much but grow more. Not flowering as fast as id like.

I topped it today because of my lack of space as well as my white widow plant who has yet to show signs of sex.



I cut the light to her for a few days and i have her back under the lights today. Trimmed her up quite a bit as well. Sucks i dont have more room yet but it should be alright, as my other plants all turned out ok. to be honest, the biggest one is growing just how I wanted it. bushy with alot of buds on the top, like a SoG grow. Hopefully i can have the same results with my other plants. Any tips would be helpful, still a noob at this and have alot to learn. thanks all who are watching. should have some pretty nugs soon and better quality pictures as well.

Started germinating seeds for my outdoor grow today. Im using jiffy cubes in a jiffy tray i got at walmart for the seedlings, then dixie cups and into my grow cab until i get my LR bubbleponic grow stared which will probably be about the same time. Im hoping they are strong enough by 4:20 to plant them outside in their special spots. I may have to move them to a bigger pot before I go out there. but with 28 seeds goin (10 Northern Lights, 9 White Widow, and 9 Mazar x Afghan) idk if im gonna have room until then for all these seedlings that will eventually become plants. and here are some bud shots i took today too. Lots and lots of white hairs, short and fat unlike my roomates soil cfl grow whose are long and skinny. whatevs they look pretty good at almost 4 weeks flowering
