Default humidity

when i started my seedlings i didnt have a humidity gauge beromoter whatever so that was like two weeks ago and i had 15 seedlings within the first week they all dryed up and turned yellow and died so i started a new batch and bought a beromoter and it said that the humidity was only at 20% so i got a humidifier and its up to like 53% i was wondering if that was the reason that they all died?
