My guess would be that it would depend on the total cubic feet of air in the area you want to kill odor and how many cubic feet of air one bulb can kill odor in to know how many you would need. The idea is good though. If someone used them throughout their home any odor that spread through the home would be done away with in every room if the lights were on. If they weren’t on they wouldn’t do anything of course. Plus if someone used them in their grow room they would only kill odor during the light cycle because they would of course have to be turned off during the dark cycle and the odor would build back up and spread again. But again it’s a cool idea but I would like to see it say one bulb of ‘X’ wattage will clean up to ‘Y’ cubic feet of air before I would get all that excited and start buying them.

Additional: It said save energy and kill odors but when you look at the specifications it says:

ENERGY STAR® Compliant : No
Energy Star Compliant : No

I would think something that is an energy saving bulb would be energy star compliant, wouldn’t you? I wonder if there is something about the odor killing part that makes it less efficient than other fluorescent bulbs that look similar or if it is just not an energy saving design but since it looks like ones that are they are ‘selling’ it as being one.
