Ok Here are my babies. one is 8 days old and one just popped his seed out the dirt. I am using MG Organic. This is just a some pics of my setup is pretty basic a thermometer, fan rubbermaid box and 4 26watt Daylights. Just took some pics from my phone.. getting a nice camera 2day. Just lookin for suggestions on what i should do to make this a better grow and when should i start adding nutes? Thanks Btw my lights hang from the top of the rubbermaid and how does my plant look for 8 days old is it small?

that first pic the leaf is turning a little pale, lets hope it gets better. i have seen that before and mine turned out ok.
as far as nutes, you shouldnt need to add any for the first couple of weeks. i like to wait until about 3 weeks or so but it depends on the plant and strain. once you get a few grows done you will be able to see when you can add nutes cause the plant will tell you when.

when you start your nute program start with like 1/4 strength and see how the plants responds. if all looks good you can continue to increase the dosage but dont overdo it.

Nutes depends on many factors.... Organic soil should be good(generally) for about 1 month/gal depending on your container drainage and how much you water(more so the amount that runs off). I water minimally(no nutes); try to keep run off to a minimum. Prolonged wet soil is bad for roots. Adding nutes adds salts, and you'll want run-off to help flush those excess (unusable) salts from the soil.

I'd wait until the 3rd node appears before considering nutes(with good soil, you can go longer). Extra nitrogen really helps with veg. You may also want to consider the size of the root ball when fertilizing. Your current ladies(hopefully) are probably a sq inch or so, but roots grow fast to fill the container.

Ideally keep 26W bulbs 1-4" from foliage. I have a chart for different bulb wattage/lumens, if you like.

GE Daylight 26W 6500k bulbs(available in mass at WalMart) have excellent plant-light(PAR) spectrum. You're good there.

yea with miracle grow that is what i have beenn using with the moisture control brand. I don't give my plants any nutes till they are 5 weeks or right before they start flowering I may give them some type of bloom booster I have been doing that for two grows now and it seems fine. I oce gave it nutes a 3 weeks old and it showed signs of nute burs and the leaves started to turn yellow on the tips. I would wait until it starts flowering. also follow the directions don't feed them nutes everyday you water them I usually feed them nutes every other time I water them. Don't give it any nutes 2-3 weeks proir to harvest.

I think many people use 24/0 lighting to avoid mold growth during sprouting with doesn't like(dies from) direct light or dry climates. It likes dark, cold to warm, moist, airy places. Dryness will kill it(or suspend), as will direct (especially UV) light.

Transplantation is somewhat trivial. Basically a container(vertically) should be 1/2 to 1/4th the height of the plant. Exceptions do apply, you can flower in 16 oz cups(probably 4.5" tall or so, times 4 is 18") a few feet tall(36"). They would require additional care, watering, and nutes.
