I've learned alot from you guys at RIU and thought I'd share how I've put it to use.

This is a work in progress but going very well so far. Right now I've got x2 BE x PPP and x1 WW x Mango 6 days old, in a 12L res (DWC/drip) and one bag seed in a 8L res (DWC) about 1 month old. I've got it in the flowering room to force it to show sex (kinda hoping its male just 'cause I don't know the strain).

My first attempt went well with a 1000watt HPS and 4 Purple Kush plants that were vegged outside. ended up with just under 3 Oz. The heat was way to much (for a small closet grow) so I started thinkin about CFLs. My second attempt was with 9 WW x Mango that all turned out to be males. It kinda set me back. I decided to shut down, rebuild and try my hand at hydro.

So right now just trying to get a couple mothers together so I give SOG a try. Still have to pick up a Clone tray and some RW, but I have lots of time.

Veg room: -4'x2.5'x3'
- x4 6500k 42 watt CFLs
- x1 15 watt 6500k T8
- x1 15 watt UV "plant grow lamp"
- More to be added as the garden grows.

Flowering room: -3.5'x2.5'x5'
- x2 85 watt 2700k CFLs (one in use so far)
- x2 15 watt UV "Plant grow lamp" (Not In Use yet)
- x4 42 watt 2700k CFLS (NIU yet)

Both rooms are pretty well vented, temps are at about 22-24C.

Its completly DIY Opp, spent about $400 on it so far. Only thing I got from the Hydroshop is Mylar, Nutes, PH kit, and RW cubes. Everything else was pretty much from HD/Lowes and a couple pet stores. Also, I'm gonna buy a real reflector eventualy.

I'm still thinking about a better exhaust system for the veg room, since theres soon to be much more light in there. Anyone know of any fans (not to expesive) that will work well with a vent hose? The fans at the hydro shop and kinda big and starting at $120+

Also, Is it better to use a heat mat under the clone tray or just a small water heater in the res? I was thinkin the heat pad might heat the room and/or the base of the box inturn warming my veg/mother res's.

heat mats work great.fans?check out ebay for cheap fans or used ones.

I need a fan that will work well to push/pull air through a hose and out of the top of the veg box without spending over 100$

Stoner,looks great so far.If you dont need to cool a bulb a 4''suncourt fan from homedepot should work fine.You also might try to get a small fan in veg to keep the freash air moving and strenthen the stems.Ps the fans are &20.00 and there 4'';works great with dryer hose.I use the siver kind of dryer hose.Keep the pics coming.StaySafe!! PS they also have 6'' for $30 i believe.

Your setup is nice man, I like the hydro. Haven’t had the joys of using hydro yet. Keep us up to date man, I'm interested in seeing how your results in hydro vary from mine in soil. I have a similar lighting set up

Well i'm pretty sure I've got a female! So things are looking up. I'm going to give it another day or two to make sure then hopefully turn her into a tray of clones.

I lost one of the PPP x BEs and the other one is looking pretty sick, (and has stopped growing) but the WWxMango is looking healthy, I topped her two days ago. I've got them on half nute, temps at 23C day. water temp are around 15-17C.

I'm not sure shes gonna make it.
I'm thinkin it might be nute burn, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What nutes are you using? Whats your ph and ppm ? You may want to flush your res . Looks more nutes lock then burn . I use 2 tsp of h2o2 in my res to help prevent this from happening .

I'm using DNF two part, the ph is 5.5-5.8 and i don't have a ppm tester yet. whats h2o2? where do you get it?
