Default Kelvin and wattage? Colors?
Im starting a new grow box and wondering what kind of CFL I should use. I know that they come in like three different spectrums. There are daylight, soft white, and bright white. I think im going to use daylight 6500K bulbs for the veg and 2700k for the flowering. I dont Know what color I should be using in that stage though. Should I stick with daylight in the 2700k range?

Ive read that the lower the wattage and most kelvin is the way to go. Ive notice that the 2700k range comes in at 40-100watts. Should I stay around 50-60 watts at this time? Also i cant find 6500k in less than 75W. I dont think Ill find anything else. Im trying to waste wattage though.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
N&M

PS. Were not strangers anymore!

Ok i will try this, kelvin is the wavelength of light 6500k is blue green-ish and is for vegetative growth.

2700k is orange-Ish and is for flowering.

About the wattage there are two wattage on CFL packages One is the actual wattage(lower number) and the other is the "looks like" wattage. Always use the actual wattage.

As far as saying the low watt bulbs are better for growing....Bullshit. That is absolutely nuts. Low watt bulbs may be better for a pc case grow but the lower watt the less plant penetration.

Just got back from the Home Depot and bought 8 60W Daylight CFL's (5500k, couldnt find the 6500k). Also got chrome bathroom vanity and bulb splitters. I will be making my own reflective hood also. This is for 2 plants. Also going to be running 2 40W fish tank hoods with internal reflectors on each side. Should be enough light for the tub.
Thanks guys!
