Yeah, when you can actually see a glaze of crystals on your bud, those are trichomes. you typically see them in the flowering stage about 2 weeks into flower you will see plenty.

YEP , ALSO GO TO RADIO SHACK AND GET A CHEAP HAND HELD MICROSCOPE TO KEEP AN EYE ON THOSE TRICHS WHEN THE TIME COMES DONT HARVEST TOO EARLY , GO ORGANIC IF AT POSSIBLE
