Default Short And Stocky From CFL

"In order to efficiently use CFL’s to grow your marijuana you will need to position the lights around 2 – 4 inches from the foliage of the plant. If you place the light too close, then your plant will have nothing to vertically stretch to and it will remain short and stocky."

that was in one of the FAQ's...and it made me wonder...is there any DISadvantage to having a short stalky plant? i put the cfls all within two inches of the leaves, one inch if possible...i have two 100 watt 5300k on the sides and one 100 watt 2700k hanging over the top (these are temporary and even tho the 2700k is low i figured the more light the better til i can get the daylight ones)...i'll post a pic of how close the leaves are growing and tell me if its normal, good, bad, nething i could do to make the baby as healthy as possible with this setup...

Those 100W bulbs can get pretty warm... there's no disadvantage to a short stalky plant... but in the sense you are meaning they mean tight nodes, and thick.

i like that and that is actually right in my price range...do you know the lumens that are put out there? and t5's i didnt see at lowes...but yeah i was gonna have to run solely cfls until i got enough to buy High Tech Garden Supply but if this could give a good yeild for a quarter of the price i would definitely consider it...im so confused right now on what kind of lights to invest in haha

now about the tight nodes and thick...i would prefer a short plant...if these tighter nodes are going to be the same potency etc i'm all for havin a bush full of bud instead of a long stem (still prayin she's a girl )

i appreciate the advice tho tech, everybody on here seems to be really helpful and understanding of newbie retards such as silky

*EDIT* I had the lights on 20/4 and i left them on 24/0 last night because i messed up and left them in the dark about 3 hours too long, which of these will encourage tighter nodes? my guess is 24 but i dont know...
