Hi,made this owt of anold door loll, the CFL at the top is 250w
the other 3 are 20w. the problem is that the smaller CFL's are touching the plants, and i can't help this, so i was wondering would it be acceptable to maybe put something around the lights to stop direct touch with the plants, i was thinking of something like cutting up a clear plastic bottle and putting this round or would doing this reduce the lumens reaching the plants?????

Why cant you rotate the light out of the way? As far as putting something over the light most cfl lights on the packaging say DO NOT USE FOR RECESSED ENCLOSURES ..... so unless your light is made for them it would be a fire hazard to try and enclose them. My 2 cents - just relocate them.

naa, u carnt rotate them when i first bought them i thought you could by looking at the design of the light, but u can't lol and there screwed to the frame of the box so cant move them. do you know if enclosing the lights would reduce lumens tho??

move the branches that are touching the lights out of the way and use some string to keep them there, also u should have some lights lower in your grow box the plants need llight at the bottom too not just at the top

the bottom of the box is light, i dnt have a clue why it looks asif its dark on the photo's lol
although i shall put some more lights lower down.
and could any body tell me what the damage would be if a few leaves (not buds) got scorched by the lights as this has already happened, could it stunt the bud growth???

Hi, also i forgot to ask, this may sound daft but i can kinda remember a biology leson at school sayin dat the chlorophyll is on the top of the leaf,so does it matter if the under sides of the leaves are light instead???
