i am grwoing with cfls. when do i know my plants need food. my oldest is about 9 days old, and the leaves are really really green. like not dark at all. does that mean feed them?

no, don't feed for the first few weeks. when you do start, use 1/2 the recommended dosage

you shouldnt need to feed them for several weeks

How big of a pot are they in?

the oldest ones thats 9 days old is in a pretty decent size pot for the entire grow. the other 4 are in blue plastic solo cups. and they range from 3-5 days old.

The one in the big pot will not need nutes for a while.
When ya trans plant the others into fresh soil they wont need nutes for a while as well.
When they turn a little pale then nutes are needed.

What till it has 4 pairs of leaves and then start feeding it every other day and if you get nute burn reduce it to every 3 days or once a week and youll be good.

If you are growing in soil, then depending on the potency of the nutrients in your soil you wont need to supplement them for 2 to 4 weeks. For example the nutrients in Fox farm oceans soil is very high so i dont feed my seedlings for up to 3 to 4 weeks. You will know when it is time, a lot of the time the plant will slow up or appear very light green in color, but the color thing isnt a prefered way to tell b/c some strains are lighter green naturly. You just get a feel for the seedlings needs
