Default My First Grow with cfl's
Well guys this is actually my first grow period not just with cfl's. I have been researching this for a while now and i think i have a good idea on what i am doing. For now i am starting with 2 bag seeds from the local supply. Hopefully i get at least 1 female, both would be nice. I am growing in the closet. I am using (2) 42 Watt 2700K Warm White CFl's and a 105 Watt 5000K Full Spectrum CFL. I have ordered another 105 Watt 5000K Full Spec CFL which should be arriving in the next few days. I want to put some mylar up on the walls but i have neglected to do so because i am still decideding on whether the white walls will suffice but im probably going to get the mylar once i get the mulah. So far plant one has made more progress than plant 2 but thats because plant one germinated a day before plant 2. Even though i planted both in soil at the same time. I am using Ferti-lome ultimate potting mix that has a mixture of sphagnum peat moss and pearlite. I was going to get the fox farm ocean forest mix but i dont have the money right now and my plants seem to be liking this mix as it is so i will stick with it.

This is the nute that i am using for vegitation currently. This is a good nute to use from the time you start the plant because not only is it for flowering it also promotes healthy rooting, speeds healing of stressed or diseased plants, and increases essential oil production for extraordinary fragrance and fabulous flavor. It has beneficial microorganisms, pre-digested enzymes, vitamins and amino acids are the key to the power of Big Bloom . These ingredients don’t often register high NPK numbers; however, they do have a profound effect on plant life.

For now i am following the schedule per foxfarmfertilizer.com

This is the nute that i am using for vegitation as well but not until week 2 according to the fox farm schedule.

Since this is my first time growing anything any tips or constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated

I would have planted about 10 seeds to make sure that I got at least one female. If I end up with say 6 females... GREAT. I can keep the healthiest 2 and ditch the rest... but at least I will be sure that I'm not gonna end up with only males.

These 2 bag seeds were the only ones i could get my hands on at the time. But i ordered 10 seeds from a seedbank this is just a test run so i get the hang of things.

Yeah for now its enough... but if you're gonna have more plants, I suggest getting at least 2 CFLs (the highest wattage you can get your hands on) per plant.

Yeah i got another one of those 105 Watt 5000K CFL's en route via UPS. Do you think its time for me to transplant into 5 gallon planters? each plant is starting its 4-5th set of true leaves. I heard your supposed to transplant into the final pot when it has 3 sets of fully developed leaves is that true?

It can't hurt to get it out of the way... but you really don't NEED to until the plant gets bigger and has a larger root ball.
