Grow So Stealth, GF Can't Find It... Auto's under CFL
Hello RIU. As the title states I'm going to be growing some auto's in a closet and see how long I can go before my gf discovers it. Lol.
The closet is in a spare room, and I'm going to be growing only a few at a time for old time's sake. Set up is as follows:
Strain - Nirvana's Short Rider.
Approx 240 true watts 2700k CFLs used throughout life of plants.
FFOF soil, 4 gallon pots - Nutes will be considered in a few weeks.
Here is the first plant 7 days in.

My goal is to complete this grow all the way through without being discovered by my chick. Not for fear of anything in particular, just for my personal amusement. If she discovers the plants, she will just roll her eyes. Lol if she doesn't find it, on the day of harvest I'll say "Hey let me show you something" LOL
I planned this grow to have two plants about 10 days apart just for my personal learning experience. My first grow was a complete failure; insufficient lighting and nute problems were just the start of it. Now let's never speak of that again.
Short Rider was chosen for a few reasons. Firstly, a buddy of mine grew it and it was fantastic smoke, and the plants were tiny. He averaged an Oz per plant in a similar set up. That is more than fine as far as yield goes for me. Secondly, my buddies Short Riders only began to stink toward the end so that buys me plenty of time to figure out odor control.
Second seed has been soaked and I expect sprout tomorrow, so I'll post pix of that one when it's up.

Anyone with experience on the strain or with a similar setup.... I welcome your advice or opinions. I need to figure out what nutes to use, and seeing as these little plants veg for very little time, I'm wondering what the best nute to give them for optimum blooming. Someone has suggested Big Bud, but I seek other's opinions too. For the record, my buddy who grew this strain before never fed commercial nutes (or so he claims).

Thanks... I'm pretty confident she won't, she never goes in that room. Only 2 factors would give it away; my activity being noticed or odor. Couple of lamps aren't gonna move the electric meter too much & its summer anyway, the bill is always higher.
There's a Fox Farm Big Bloom you could feed. My auto (lowryder #2) is going on a Fox Farms feeding schedule. I just read that it's some good stuff. You could also try Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Bloom.
Get an Ona mister and have it spray in that room just put it above or beside the door

Thanks for your replies. I have some time before I need Ona but when the time comes, better believe I will buy it lol. So I germed another second Short Rider seed and it's thriving. It's exactly 10 days older than the first one. There was a seed that germed but died on day 2. So this is technically the third Short Rider plant, and it's named SR3.

This should be good, I'm hiding my grow from the wife. She's getting pretty suspicious of me heading out to the shed every night for a peek. Best of luck, I'll be following your grow to see how long you can hold out.
And here is SR1 at 10 days old. Will begin giving nutes in a week or two. Still deciding which line to try. Maybe just stick to FF since thats the soil I'm running. Will be giving only blooming nutes, which is what Nirvana recommends.
