    Default Taproot above soil.....HELP!

    Hey all,

This is my first grow and I've been trolling these forums for weeks now and am extremely impressed. Now I need some help!

I recently planted a seed 8 days ago straight into a Rapid Rooter in a Hydrofarm Germination station (heatmat + humidity dome). I ripped off a piece of the Rapid Rooter to cover the hole where the seed is. The first thing I was able to notice was the white taproot coming up to the surface. I thought it was going to turn around but it didn't. Now it looks like the taproot has broken soil, taken root at the top of the rooter, and the cotleydons have shed the seed and the leaves look a little yellowish-brown. Is this seed going to die? Should I try and adjust it somehow with tweezers, transplant the rapid rooter into my growing medium and make sure to cover the root with the medium, or let it be and see if it fixes itself? It's sitting under a 42w daylight CFL about 2 feet above the station.

Thanks in advance for any help!
