Males can start off similarly to females but I would wait a few days to be sure. Males are generally taller but the tale-tell signs are the balls that form below where the pistils normally would be. if they have both then it might be a Hermie. Hope this helps.

knew about the balls and possibility of hermies and all that, but thank you! i'll just have to wait...i am far too impatient sometimes haha.

Super stoked on this update for you guys. A buddy of mine is vegging right now and doesnt need his HPS setup so he let me borrow it. Roommate is setting it up for me tonight and i should have pics for you guys by tomorrow.

What kind of strain is juicy fruit ? Hybrid mix? If so that may be a reason they haven't shown sex. Sativas take longer to sex.

Yep it's a hybrid, I believe it's like 70/30 indica dominant.

I've got a couple pictures of the hps set up on the plant, and it's already taken off under the hps. Such a difference. I'll have to move my grow thread out of the cfl sub forum soon


What's the best way to take pictures of the plant when the hps is on without it showing up with massive distortion and black bars??

big update time...this is a mixture of pics I took today, 19 days into flowering and it's a girl! there are a bunch of pictures before and after i trimmed it up and finally some pistils showing.

feeding based on the foxfarm schedule, giving it grow big/tiger bloom/big bloom and chaching in a few weeks.

4 weeks of flowering under 400w of HPS now, buds are really coming along.
