great update hun i love the vannilla also hun the strawberry should be a real nice producer aswell
Hey all! Thanks for the comments on my lineup...yep, looks like it is going to be a good one. All the seedlings are now happily transplanted into their supermix recipe that Karmas a Bitch gave me, this time done right...with coco. That stuff is really nice! I've heard of coco, I've seen the bricks, but I had no idea... It is a pleasure to mix up. I see now why people like it. I think my seedlings will be happy with it too...happier than with the reused soil... I think that was a bit too hot.

So here's what the seedlings are sitting in now:

8 cups of coco, reconstituted
1 Tablespoon each of Bone meal, Blood meal, and Kelp meal
1/2 Tablespoon each of bat guano and marine cuisine
1/2 teaspoon of Plant Success (Endo/Myco mix)
6 Tablespoons each of Perlite and Earthworm casings

Yummy!

Now, I have want to see what y'all think about something ... I have a product that I use on the cat's litter box that I've been researching and finding some interesting information... I have this stuff called "Clear the Air" that I sprinkle on the litter box each time we change it to control odor. Well, I was reading the package, and it turns out, you can also use it in your garden to control odors AND it adds nitrogen to the soil. It is safe for small animal cages and terrariums (even if they eat some of it) and it's all natural. I'm thinking that I could sprinkle a bit all over the floor of my bathtub where everyone is growing. If anybody soaks up any runnoff, they get a little extra nitrogen. What do you think?

According to the company, you can hang vented bags of this stuff in dumpsters to control stink. Sounds like a miracle product to me!

Thanks! I'm really excited about the BB after watching yours and Dels. I planted 4 of my seeds and so far, three of them have come up. I'm still patiently waiting on the fourth. I just know it's coming up too. Then to wait and see how many of the four turn out female... If I get a male, I'm gonna see about harvesting pollen...never done that before...

And back to MomaPug's question... no Red Cherry Berry this time. I ended up giving away all of my clones of her. She was fun to grow and the smoke was good (and sweet), but not so special that I'm gonna keep her around. I am still on my quest to grow 100 strains. I

have a little "kit" with tiny vials in a carrying case and I'm saving 1/2 gram of each strain I grow. I think when I have 100 1/2 gram samples, I'm having a GOOD day. Or maybe I'll host a private auction and sell it... I have four strains saved so far: Kaya Gold, Vanilla Kush, Northern Lights Blue, and Red Cherry Berry. I have 5 new strains in the grow room and Strawberry Kiss on the drying rack.

So after this grow, I'll have 10% of my original goal!

I can't see why it would be a bad idea to try, but you may want to give it a test run

Hi Joey! I've missed you too. When I am around, it seems that you are not. And welcome medicalmaster. I'm glad you are learning here. That's what it's all about! I learned practically everything I know about growing right here on RIU. If you have pics of a grow you want to share, please feel free!

UPDATE:
Here's what's new in the grow room.

I harvested both the big girls. The Vanilla Kush yielded 18 grams and the Strawberry Kiss gave me 30 grams. Left in the grow room is one Strawberry Kiss clone and two pygmy Vanilla Kush clones. No really, pygmies... these girls are starting week 4 of flowering and neither of them is over 5" tall. Of course, these are the clones of the ill-fated Vanilla Kush. I swear, next time a plant tries to die on me, it's as good as dead. This one cost me a lot of time and frustration for very little yield...not impressed. Good smoke, though

And my seedlings are doing fantastic!!!

From top to bottom are Amnesia, Moby Dick (L), Wonder Woman (R), and Flash Back #2.

And, I am proud to announce that ALL FOUR BUBBLEBOMB SEEDS are now above the soil. Two of them came right up and are in their enriched coco pots. The other two are still unfurling so they will be transplanted into the coco mix in the next couple of days. These are the first reg seeds I've ever grown so now I get to play the "is it a girl" game. You guys gotta stick with me while I stress over every little hair and bump!

Good stuff bluejeans...I was actually chatting with my local dispensary today about different grow mediums.....

They were reccomending I drop the soil routine and go to coco, and I am seriously considering it (for my next grow)......How do you like it so far, would you recommend it?

I gotta tell ya, so far, I am VERY impressed. I don't have any particular good reason for saying that other than I just liked the way it felt, liked the way it handled, and it is certainly cheap enough. It is also completely reusable, as I understand it...at least with this organic mix I'm using. It's supposed to get better and better with each use. Which eliminates the disposal of large amounts of soil too.

The nutrient stuff I bought cost me about $65 and I have enough for maybe 10-12 3 gallon pots. Everything is there for the plants so I all I have to do is just add water. The coco bricks I bought cost under $4 and one of them made enough for seven 5L pots once I added all the enrichments and perlite. So, it is economical.

Bottom line? Yes, I recommend it. If you're not in a hurry, you might watch and see how my grow goes. This is my first time with coco. Karma's a Bitch (bestower of the recipe) drops by here from time to time and he is a coco guru so we can all learn coco growing together!!!

Okay, I highly recommend being stoned the first time you put the coco in water to reconstitute. It's funny as hell (of course, I do lead a sheltered life and I'm easily amused...). I put the brick in the bottom of a 5 gal bucket, poured a gallon and a half of water over it and got in the shower. Now, this brick was the size of a standard brick...like you build houses out of... When I got out of the shower, BAM! 2.5 gallons of coco in the shape of a HUGE frickin' brick... Sort of went from a brick to a cinder block. Hilarious! Well, I giggled, anyway... :weed:
